AC/DC – TNT LP orig 0

Feb9

OK, so this is technically the second press of this LP (the first has dark blue labels), but it’s still the original Australian version, to which there is no “international” counterpart pressing. Basically AC/DC recorded this and High Voltage in 1975 and then when they gained some notoriety outside of kangaroo-land, Atlantic Records combined 7/9ths of this record and a coupla tracks from the orig Aussie High Voltage into a new “international” version of High Voltage.

Long story short: this is the only way to get what I think is the best AC/DC record, in its original vinyl form. The cover art is way cooler (and a gatefold) and there’s a great cover of Chuck Berry’s “School Days” that’s not on the other versions. These Albert press LP’s hit a steady $50–75 these days in nice shape, so this could be a good buy for the budding Acca Dacca collector.

BEWARE…. Its probably not a real test pressing 1

Feb8

The seller says that he is mainly a reggae collector so he doesnt know much about this record. Even though he admits he doesnt know much about it, he is still trying to sell it as possibly being a Misfits ‘Beware’ 7″ test pressing. Since the auction ends tomorrow and there are no bids I think its safe to say its not a test press… more likely a ‘fanclub pressing’ (bootleg) with no sleeve.

Take your chances for a $30 opening bid or just buy it and tell everyone its a Misfits test press!

SCREAMERS – 7/7/77 12″ 0

Feb8

Recent bootleg of Screamers studio material, probably the best sounding Screamers boot I’ve ever heard [and there are lots of them (of which 99.9% of them suck bad.)] This LP is allegedly limited to 300,  allegedly authorized by the band and allegedly sourced from original tapes, though contact with two original members indicates that it is indeed not authorized.

The booter has been selling them at extortionate prices ($18/wholesale and $25-30 retail) so this low starting price/non-Buy It Now auction is cool, and could save you some dough as a buyer. Have at it.

SOIA 0

Feb8

SICK OF IT ALL 7″ Revelation #3 complte with original insert. limited to 1000.

Nice addition to a Rev collection or a great way to start a SOIA collection!

MENTAL ABUSE – Streets Of Filth LP 0

Feb8

Adolescent Skins… they stink! One of, if not THE, greatest New Jersey hardcore records of all time. Why hasn’t this record been reissued? Was Syd Sludge actually retarded?? Is Syd Sludge even still alive??? All questions that need to be answered with the quickness.

Supposedly only 500 pressed, and the inserts were only passed out at shows so those are pretty scarce too. This record is virtually impossible to find in decent condition (also see: Fang first LP, Dicks first LP), so don’t be scared away by the ring wear.

Public Image Limited 0

Feb8

This is an original and a reissue of the 2nd release from Johnny Rottens post Sex Pistols project, Public Image Limited.

‘Metal Box’ was originally released by Virgin Records in November 23rd, 1979 as three 12″ records packaged in a film canister. It was re-released in 1980 as a double LP in a gatefold sleeve under the name ‘Second Edition’. Only 60,000 (50,000 in the UK and 10,000 in the US) of the original ‘Metal Box’ sets were produced.

The second auction is for a sealed copy of the 2006 reissues of ‘Metal Box’. This time Runt Distrobution teamed up with the ‘4 Men With Beards’ label and 5000 (all in the US) were produced making it rarer, but not as desirable as the original release.

Strike Anywhere Change Is A Sound LP 0

Feb8

I didn’t REALLY start collecting records until 2000 or 2001. Before that, I just picked up tshirts and said, “I don’t need records.” Then for a while, I would only buy EPs.

Yeah, I’m weird, what do you want?

One of the first new LPs I picked up was Change Is A Sound on grey vinyl. I bought it at the Newbury Comics in Shrewsbury while hanging with my friend John Hammand (not the pianist dude, sadly). We were driving around after some ridiculous CS classes in 2001 and hit up the Newb. Ben Cummings may have been working that day. I would later purchase ALL of his brother’s record collection. That was the day my collection really took off.

In fact, according to my timeline, I bought most of Dickie’s collection 8 years and 2 days ago. February 6, 2002. How about that? Time flies. I actually purchased his collection in two scoops. The first scoop was lots of early rare Rev gear (together comp on orange, warzone on orange, soia on red & black stamped, gb on yellow, judge on green, gb on purple, … straight ahead lp). The second scoop was everything else. Which included 15 copies of the Converge Halo In a Haystack LP. Dope.

But this feels like the LP I really started it all off with. And hanging with these guys for a week in 2006 was a definite trip. Great dudes. Shout outs to Garth and his GB Tour 91 longsleeve with yellow ink on the sleeves!

CHAIN OF STRENGTH – Life Imitates Art. 0

Feb8

I know this is a better fit over at teetilldeath.com but I just had to post it. It’s funny to know the direct source for a bootleg. In 2008 Anthony Popalardo and Nate Nedorostek released their beautifully put together visual history of American hardcore titled Radio Silence.

Within these lush pages an image of the classic Chain X of Strength t-shirt appears with a twist: ZOMG, it’s tie-dyed! It’s not rare, it’s not original, Malcom tent was tie-dying shirts one day and decided to give one Chain shirt a hippie bath. Anyway, I’m sure Radio Silence is the inspiration for this dude’s auction. Argentinean bootlegger extraordinaire Axel_ Edge didn’t even get the coloring right.

Life imitates art. Wait, did art imitate life since the shirt existed before it appeared in the book? I’m pretty sure this is a causality dilemma. One needs to embrace the logical fallacy of the metaphorical view which sets a metaphysical ground for the dilemma: therefore, one cannot exist without the other. Glad that’s settled.

****Update

Also, buy some of this dude’s auctions. I hope he uses the money to buy some new bedsheets. Gross.

COCK SPARRER – Runnin’ Riot 7″ promo sleeve 0

Feb8

Cock Sparrer’s legendary first single. Most of the time this record turns up without a sleeve, but if you’re lucky enough to stumble into one of these rare promo copies (issued in the UK, Spain and Portugal) you get this great picture sleeve of footie fans triumphantly invading the pitch.

This copy is still going pretty cheap so this could be a nice score for you to impress all the skinbirds with at the next scooter rally.

Crusties love their off size records… 5

Feb7

I love Dropdead for lots of reasons, one of which is because they have released a 5″, a 7″ an 8″ and an 11″ in addition to a 12″ that plays from the inside out and an LP with a lockgroove in the middle… Genius!

This is the original Clearview Records pressing of the ‘Discography’ 11″ on orange vinyl limited to only 500 copies complete with the newsprint insert.

Last Rights Chunks EP 2

Feb7

So that Hitler sleeve was out of your price range, or you didn’t want it in your collection? That’s cool and understandable.

How about this one instead?

It just appears to have the one sleeve, which is odd since most seemed to have a second sleeve. You know the variations and colors schemes.

Sleeve has some wrinkles. Certainly not mint enough for Luis’s collection, but would probably look nice in yours. Would also look nice following that Last In Line ep as you flip through your collection. Sort of a show stopper.

we dont drink no booze! 0

Feb7

slightly obscure piece of info on this record. The 2 song Chunks 7″ was originally going to be a 6 song 12″ on Xclaim records. There are 2 tests presses of the Taang! 7″, but there is also a set of 2 acetates from the recording studio that have all 6 songs on them and say Xclaim rather than Taang!

If you’re interested in this record you already know about it… 1000 pressed only 100 with this sleeve.

DESPERATE BICYCLES – Medium Was Tedium 7″ buyitnow 0

Feb6

Second 7″ by the founding fathers of DIY punk, with a pretty decent Buy It Now price (doubly nice for Yanks that the seller is in the US and you don’t have to pay UK shipping rates.) The DBs’ singles have been climbing steady in price over the past year or two, and they ain’t getting reissued any time soon, so grab this one while you can. It’s not the cheapest but it’s easy so go and do it.

BIN Chokehold “Conquer the World” shirt 0

Feb6

$21 Chokehold shirt? Conquer the World records!

Everything that surrounds me, IS A LIE! Except for this auction. It’s true.

A Choke CD Collection for those With Deep Pockets 2

Feb6

I like Slapshot. Saw them a few months back at Anchors Up in Haverhill. Really enjoyed myself. Same great live show.

I like Stars And Stripes. Saw them play a Back To School Jam many years ago in Framingham Mass. A fun night for sure. A great gig in general, but Stars And Stripes really notched it up.

I like Negative FX. Sadly, never saw them.

But $75 for 4 CDs is fucking brutal. $75 for 4 USED CDs is even worse. Add one without a cover and throw in $8 for fucking Parcel Post (outrageous really. Sellers like this hurt my soul), and you have a $83 auction that no one will EVER bid on.

Yo Moshua, correct me if I’m wrong, but this dude is cracked out, right?

NECROS – Sex Drive 7″ orig 1

Feb6

Another big-money rarity hits the ebay machine. I always thought this record sucked, but since there are only 100 pressed and its Touch & Go #1, it’s been a top collector scum item since the mid 80s.

This one’s cool because it has the rejected sleeve as well as the regular sleeve, and includes the poster insert.

Rev Collection – Burn on pink 0

Feb6

Maybe my favorite rev release? Love everything about this record. Chaka is def in my list of top frontmen ever. I was lucky enough to see Burn about 8 times and each time they killed!

1000 on pink

State of Alert! 0

Feb6

another record from a band with that mid 90’s actor singing. This time its a 2nd press of the SOA 7″ green vinyl… Dischord Records #2…

The sellers description doesnt mention the writing on the sleeve at all so I’m not sure whats up with that, but I’ll post the info if I get an answer

*edit: got this answer from the seller…. “Sleeve is autographed, fairly small, by Mike Hampton guitar player. Includes insert, in EX+ condition.”

skate all day… drink all night… 0

Feb6

I almost don’t want to post this because I want to buy it, but I’m in the middle of trying to downsize so here it is..

GangGreen ‘Skate To Hell’ & ‘We’ll Give It To You’ diecut 7″ picturedisc shaped like a skateboard. Released in England by Road Racer in 1987.

No doubt about it… can’t live without it!
