Get Up Kids 4 Minute Mile LPs

This record will always have a soft spot in my heart.

Back in 1997, I had a radio show with a few friends. Mike would lug all his EPs, I’d lug some cds, and Kate would just hang out.

Each program started with us playing Vocal Test by Integrity. Great starter, no doubt.

At some point in our programming, Mike would often play a song off this album. And not just any song. But the song “Don’t Hate Me.” The back story on why? Well, his best friend had dated a girl named Amy. It got messy, you can see where it goes from there. I don’t recall him ever dedicating it, but it was often spun.

I loved that little radio show we had. It didn’t matter that there was NO antenna signal, and that it could only be heard by WPI students who turned on their TVs. Yes, TV. It was broadcast over the cable station. We would be happy knowing that some common room with a TV somewhere on campus was listening to Killing Time with us. Warm fuzzies.

Pick up these reprints. They look good.

Yeah, this LP has a spot in my heart as well. Got the red vinyl copy on the four minute mile tour at the Palladium. They played with a band called Homegrown, remember them? I bet you were there Brian.
