OK, so this is technically the second press of this LP (the first has dark blue labels), but it’s still the original Australian version, to which there is no “international” counterpart pressing. Basically AC/DC recorded this and High Voltage in 1975 and then when they gained some notoriety outside of kangaroo-land, Atlantic Records combined 7/9ths of this record and a coupla tracks from the orig Aussie High Voltage into a new “international” version of High Voltage.
Long story short: this is the only way to get what I think is the best AC/DC record, in its original vinyl form. The cover art is way cooler (and a gatefold) and there’s a great cover of Chuck Berry’s “School Days” that’s not on the other versions. These Albert press LP’s hit a steady $50–75 these days in nice shape, so this could be a good buy for the budding Acca Dacca collector.
