THE SELLER SAYS:
Rare Youth Of Today obscurity, orig. 80´s press, Matrix: PF-004-1 RE other side: PF-004-2 RE.
White Blank labels with nothing on them. This is supposed to be some kind test pressing or a unstamped version of the “Some Records Edition” (lim.to 100) that slipped through by accident. I couldn´t find any specific Info on this pressing. Comes with Cover and Insert. I got it from an old collector who was an important part of the Scene back then. Anyway this is for sure one of a handful if not a one of a kind…. so take the Chance!!!
KEVIN SECONDS SAYS:
that YOT pressing looks like it could be a fake, honestly. i know that for years various people have bootlegged vinyl of that record and have sold it on eBay as “original pressings”. i believe, because i did the first pressing, i was the only person who got test pressings of that record at the time.
by the way and i keep telling collectors this, the first pressing didn’t even come with that thicker, glossier sleeve. we printed the covers at a Kinko’s and sold them with those.

Not sure if it’s a boot. but it does look freakishly mint for a 25-year old copy.
So then a copy with the glossy cover & red letters would be 2nd press?
Interesting how the eBay listing was pulled…
you saved some poor soul some money.
Hopefully some fool wasn’t parted with an exorbitant amount of money. I’d like to think we saved somebody.
its still up.
saved somebody from what? i call bullshit on the kev seconds info. typical old guy mentality where if it’s out of the ordinary, it must be fake. RE in the matrix means there’s an earlier rejected test press, so there would have to be 2 sets out there.
has anyone ever seen a boot of this record? i’ve been collecting records for almost 20 years and have never seen or heard of one.
also the auction is still active, i think josh just f’d up the link…
Why all the fuss? This is just a some records without the stamp. Look at the PX, plenty of legit PX’s don’t have stamps.
I fixed the link, good looking out Cooch
I just logged in and thought I fixed it… sorry I screwed it up guys.
As far as everything else everyone is saying, I just asked Kevin about it and posted what he said.
I’m with Cooch on this one. It is not a bootleg and it is not the SOME pressing without stamps.
I have just talked to RJ, who along with CIV was a YOT roadie on the Break Down The Walls 1987 tour. According to him they discovered about a dozen or so 7inches with blank B-side labels. Him, Ray, Ritchie, possibly someone else made drawings on the B-sides and gave them away to very few people during the tour. He still has one blank B-side with YOUTH OF TODAY NOSES OF TOMORROW writing. He also just gave one to Tim Macmahon with blank B-side and modified sleeve that has a cut out of snow whites head taped over porcells on the back of the jacket. It is possible that very few of that pressing came out with both blank labels (pressing plant fuck up most likely) and have just gone unnoticed. This makes most sense. I have the B-side blank label with United Blood skinhead drawn on it with a blue pen. It looks very boss. I now also have the double blank copy because I have just bought this one here (I missed one that was on ebay few months ago and sold for $330). I’d rather pay money for this than gold batman or the SOME pressing. Both of those pop up on ebay every once in a while. This one doesn’t. It’s a boss record and possibly the rarest YOT CCME 7″ version out there.
If that zee-german dude wrote what I just wrote here in his description this could have sold for probably double of what I paid for it. No one likes to buy a pig in a poke. People love the background info.
As for Kevin Seconds: he simply must have missed the few copies (out of 1000) that were missing printed labels. As for the bootleg of CCME, I have been buying records for a very extended period of time and I have yet to see one.
Murphy, did you just call me a fool?
haha
Good story, Dobek. I’ve never heard that one, actually.
