I worked at the Newbury Comics warehouse in 1997 when this record came out and I got a promo copy of the CD a while before it actually came out.
Its a great comp CD, but it holds a special place for me because when it came out a friend and I were in the process of opening a comic book/collectible toy store in Bellingham, MA. When we were trying to come up with a name the CD was sitting on my desk and like a sign from the gods… there it was… and so it was… our store to be known as CREEPY CRAWL!
We were not the best buisness people and the store only lasted a year, but we tried and it was a good experience.

This is a GREAT comp, way underrated. The WARZONE track?? Fuck me! I still remember how it starts off “… 1988… Don’t forget the struggle, don’t forget the fucking streets!” so good. Jimmy fucking up lyrics to a Murphys Law song that he must have sung at least 300 times at the point of this recording? Awesome. This comp may even fool you into thinkin you like bands like 25 Ta Life, Downlow NYC and whatever other scrub bands were on it, just because it was that awesome of a comp.
i remember picking it up when it came out at NBC – Another Planet was too short lived. I still listen to this album in regular rotation! Hell, yeah, Downlow! “you don’t know what’s a slosh victim?” Killing Time and Merauder are priceless versions – “Skarred Love” with Toby – Warzone – 2 H20s, 2 Murphy’s Law (still with Todd Youth) with Raven. The Nine Lives track is awesome. Ensign. Crown of Thornz, 25 ta Life, SubZero. Oh, god. Rejuvenate!!! i love this – Most comps or live albums end up collecting dust. I play this all the time. The sound is crisp and clear – and the energy is contagious. This is a fun album.
