AMERICAN NIGHTMARE – Que Rareo Test Press

Here is an American Nightmare s/t test press up for grabs. We here at vinlynoize are all dorks who are into limited and rare vinyl but don’t you all hate when a “test pressing” hits double digits? There are 27 of these, that is some straight up Dischord shit. In comparison, b9′s first release had only 3 test presses and Shark Attack’s first 7″ (which I happen to like more than the AN 7″) had 10. I think in the end the label usually goes by what the band asked for so I am not blaming b9. I just think when it gets as high as 27 it turns into an actual pressing. Hell, there are some variants of this record that are rarer than the test press. A test press is best served as the cherry on top of any given collection. Or on a banana split sundae. I’m talking about a cherry; not a test press.

*Banana split sundae… I gotta go visit my boy Ras Trent and have him whip me up one of those. “Janessa. I’ll be back in a few.” Where did I put my rollerskates?*

Keep em limited yo.

*BONUS*
Once upon a time I traded a Shark Attack test to Chris for both Tenfold test presses. Since it was pressed on My War originally, it was the only b9 release Chris didn’t have. It went off with out a hitch and we were both happy with the trade. Don’t worry, I had two Shark Attack tests.

I find high numbers of test presses odd, like say anything over 1o. 27?
The whole point of tests it to given the to band to approve them, not to every kid at a basement show. This sort of takes away from the “holiness” of tests, it becomes more of just a special pressing. Keep tests sacred. I digress though, great record.

The No Turning Back/No Apologies/Internal Affairs 3-way split test is /50!

And printed on the cover, not hand numbered.

I’ve heard that WeBite is really bad about test presses to, but the weird thing is that I can’t find a test press of Slapshot ‘Unconsciousness’! Its one of the few that I still need and I can’t find it.

    Can anyone help me out??

bigger labels like we bite made lots of tests to use as promos, as opposed to flooding the collector market. same thing with dischord.

rev did this too. I know of a bringing it down test that has a promo stamp and was found at a local radio station as well as a bold 7″ test. Although, them things are out of like 8.
