A Light In The Dark

Call me crazy, but I love this album. I picked it up in the mid 90s, after Outspoken had broken up, and before I started attending “real” hardcore shows (I’m sorry, but I have hard time justifying Tree and Sam Black Church as hardcore). I found my copy used at Bull Moose in Brunswick. I had never heard the band, didn’t know anything about them. All I knew is that they were released on New Age Records. At the time, that was all the convincing I need (pre-Internet, wikipedia, myspace music, … all that jazz. I supposed I could have ventured onto alt.music.hardcore for some insight though). I was hooked. I immediately got a Strife vibe but with more politics involved. I could hang with that. And unlike most of the records from that era, this one still stands up, I can still play this and enjoy the hell out of it. As far as I know, this NEVER came on color vinyl. Someone back me up.

Backed up. Definitely never came on color. Just like the Mouthpiece LP. Pity.

Hey guys, your prayers for a coloured vinyl version have been answered:

Have just been reading the Anti-Matter anthology book that came out on Revelation a while ago, and the band seemed really dismissive of this album, which is a real shame, as it is a pretty solid album. But I guess, if Mike is re-releasing it on coloured vinyl, maybe they have reconciled themselves to it.
