Our Heads Are Shaved For Battle!

This is a Stars & Stripes bootleg that doesnt seem to pop up that often and more times than not when it does, its in Japan. I’ve had mine for awhile so I dont remember for sure, but I think it came from Japan!

Its from ‘Gang Riot Records’ in 1998 and its been reported that it was limited to 400 copies, but since its a bootleg no one knows for sure. Its just 4 tracks off of the ‘Shaved for Battle’ LP on a 7″…
1. Skinheads On The Rampage
2. American Oi
3. Shaved For Battle
4. Nothing To Fight For Anymore

Its a cool record if you’re a Slapshot or Stars & Stripes collector. Low starting price no bids and it ends in about a day!

Bootlegs like his seem so pointless. Also see: Tied Down and Get It Away as 7″s that just arbitrarily leave off some of the songs from the LPs.

I have a copy of this record that I bought from Choke in the early 2000′s. Either the bootlegger was nice and sent copies for the band, or maybe Choke had a hand in it? ;)

maybe I’m wrong, but I feel like Bootlegs have a place in record collecting. I’m not saying that its okay for someone to make one, but once its out there its something that some people may want.

I collect Stars & Stripes stuff and there are not very many records/variations to get so when I found this I was psyched to add another record to the collection even if it was a bootleg.

Sorry to the guys that don’t like the bootleg posts!

Some bootlegs are cool and classic/well-known, or have historical context (SSD lp on Exclaim, the Siege demo I posted, or the Judge chung king 10″ are good examples), but stuff like this is really just trashy and unnecessary.

Also, why would you want to spend $15+ on this 7″ when you can get the legit LP for not much more? I understand you’re a completist collector, but this stuff is just cheap cash-in material on the part of whoever made it.

I understand what you’re saying. Its just when I’m a superfan of a band I like to get as much stuff as I can. Plus once you have all the REAL stuff its nice to find something else . As awesome as it is to have a complete collection it means that the ‘thrill of the hunt’ is gone so I dont have a problem with stuff like this.
