Hey, since this is my first contribution to Vinyl Noize, lemme say what’s up to all the other bloggers (Hey Murphy!), and readers. I’m gonna dive right into it though, and talk about this Drift Again – Cold Season 7″ fiere is selling. Drift Again was band from the early 90′s (this 7″ came out in 1991), and featured Mike and Dennis from Outspoken, as well as Randy from Pushed Aside/Against The Wall (Jaybil hopefully have checked them by now). Sound-wise they were a complete departure from all of these bands though, mid-paced, maybe even a little “emo”, but still pretty heavy, with a later-era Turning Point vibe throughout. I really like this EP it’s a shame they did not release a couple more records. (They also have a track on the Words To Live By 7″ comp and a 2 song demo). With postage-paid, this BIN might be worth it to have this in your hands in a few days.
If you dig this style check out Set Adrift (yeap) from the Ukraine.

great record for a first entry. its often over looked and it shouldn’t be.
Thanks, yeah, good record. Just heard it for the first time myself a couple of years ago.
Thumbs up! Welcome aboard, Emil. Now it’ll be my turn to comment, “oh great, another record EMIL likes, yuck.” ;)
I’m really good friends with the dude who sang for them and we hang out on the regular. I keep bugging him for a reunion show to happen, so maybe it will happen one day!
I am good friends with Set Adrift and their 7” is available for free download here: http://setadrift.bandcamp.com/
Great review, Emil. Drift Again is intense!
