Attention In My Eyes Collectors

Ok, so someone out there must be a big time In My Eyes collector, having shelled out $175 on their 7″ with Lil Wayne sleeve last week. And if they were forced to pay that much, then I am safe to assume that there is someone else out there who wanted it almost as much. So I’m assuming that there are at least two In My Eyes collectors out there. Who knows, there may be more? So I thought I would bring this lesser known IME record to everyone’s attention. Because, let’s face it, if you want a complete In My Eyes collection then you’re gonna need to get on this…

This is the ‘Bacteria Sour Vol. 2′ double 7″ compilation, which was released by Pushead (surprisingly) on his Bacteria Sour label back in 1998. Most of the bands are the kind of bands that Pushead released stuff by. And then there’s also an In My Eyes song tacked on too. I would guess that IME ended up on here because it was around the time when Pushead did the artwork for ‘The Difference Between’ LP. But still, it seems kinda odd to get In My Eyes opening a compilation which then goes on to feature Devoid of Faith, Integrity, Septic Death, Roswell Project, Detestation & Cavity.

Oh, and just in case you are the completist In My Eyes collector who wants this one so you can move one step closer to having that killer IME collection, you need to be aware that there are five variations of this one out there. But hey, whoever said that collecting records was easy?

By the way, if anyone out there does happen to own all 5 variations of this just for the In My Eyes song then please chip in & let me know. I’d be impressed as hell.

Initially Pushead wanted to release IME on his label or even help us self-release the album, he had a lot of great ideas and cool packaging ideas and thought that rather than go with a “big” label we could do something totally different which would be unique for a straight edge band. He didn’t look at the pairing as odd, it was just music he liked. We were obviously honored to be asked to be a part of the compilation and he chose the track because it reminded him of 7 Seconds. The End.

There are actually something like 10-12 variations if you count the pressings that are just the single 7″ version.
