I can’t be too upset about it- DFJ managed to get an LP for me into the hands of JayBil, so I’m looking forward to seeing him soon (who am I kidding, I always look forward to seeing JayBil). But it’s just so, so blatant. Don’t expect me to be doing that with my copy, no way.

Arnold HC! 1986 after “Commando” still in that butterzone of not-so-great English, this is loaded with amazing quotes and heaps of ultra-violence. Everything I love about Arnold movies. Here you can own the original soundtrack LP! $10 bucks opener, cheapest one on eBay right now. It’s better than that “Twins” soundtrack, I promise.

No For An Answer LP Test Press

So it would seem that The Mayor of OC is back. A few short weeks ago this dude created quite a stir on the Livewire board by listing some nice items for sale and inviting offers, although a lot of people misunderstood and thought that his opening bid prices were the final prices. Dude must have got sick of being bombarded with emails asking to buy his records for bugger all, so within 24 hours he cut the Livewire auctions and took his wares to eBay. Well, after making a decent amount of money from those auctions, dude is now back with more stuff, which is mainly of the twelve inch variety. Going by the user ID tricerasquad, dude has some nice items up at the moment. I’ll probably post up a couple more, but for now I’m going with the one that I found most appealing and interesting – a test press of No For An Answer’s ‘A Thought Crusade’ LP, which was apparently acquired direct from Dan O’Mahoney when he sold his records in 1998.

I thought I remembered seeing one of these for sale in the past, so I hit up popsike. It shows that one of these sold for $360 in September 2010. I would expect this to go for more, but I’m hoping it doesn’t as I’d like it for myself and I don’t want to pay that much.

Seller righteeo aka Mark McKay of Slapshot fame is cleaning out his basement and he found this gem!

An origional Verbal Assault ‘The Masses’ cassette from 1985. 10 songs recorded live on WRIU radio January 20th, 1985. Not only is this the original cassette with the cover, but it also comes with a lyric sheet and a 17 year old crack & peal Verbal Assault sticker!

An amazing find that I wish Mark would have offered to me first ; )

Promises Kept Record Release

I don’t know why I am so attracted to ebay auctions with terrible pictures, but here is yet another one by first time seller jkonick.

Dude has a criminally underpriced copy of Champion’s Promises Kept up for grabs. This is the record release version with the band rejected first mix. Only 150 were pressed. The description is sorely lacking any kind of detail, so I am not sure if this one has the Bridge Nine logo on the back cover or not but I guess you could ask the guy.

The auction still has a couple days to go, but the price is low enough you might be able to sneak this one out for a fair price. Not bad for one of the best straight edge hardcore albums from the last decade.

CHEMOTHERAPY-S/T 7″

I hope that this post serves as a guide for my friend Nick in getting this record. I know for a while he was talking about getting a copy of Chemotherapy’s S/T 7 inch, and I don’t know if that wish came true for him in the past few months. This post won’t “blow up” the spot because this record isn’t the standard NYHC, REV or ‘hyped record at the time’ being posted. The record that seller surfingscottyg is auctioning is for the people that love early 80′s obscure hardcore singles, and it just so happens my friend LOVES those. I am going to take a blurb from one of the description of this record that was auctioned 2 years ago to describe what’s on this record…

In case you are wondering what this sounds like that I can assure you that it is genuinely inept! Classics like “Why should I?”, “Who cares?” and “All my friends are dead” are played somewhat enthusiastically at 100mph and sometimes, you can never be quite sure, it even sounds like the band are all playing the same song. “All my friends are dead” is a genuine attempt at the land speed record for the time and could potentially be the record holder for 1983. Think DRI 22 songs on 45rpm instead of 33rpm. So if you enjoy music that was obviously put together in a matter of hours and sounds like the band recorded it with a Walkman whilst they were falling down a very long flight of stairs then this is for you! Lets be clear, I am not detracting from this record in any way. In my opinion it just doesn’t get much better than this. Chemotherapy – s/t 7″ Uprising Records 001, W. … and none of you got me anything. I’ll have to admit, I’m a little saddened by that. But then again, maybe it’s my fault. Maybe you didn’t get my subtle hints through out the year. Maybe none of you saw my list. It happens, right? So I’ll break it down for you. Here are my top 3 wants.

1. The Difference Between on red vinyl. Sure, Marlon is selling these other colors but I already have em. I just need red.
2. Original Misfits art work. But not really. If I got this, I’d just trade it to Dave Sausage for a stack of crucial shit.
3. Bane test presses. I could use the Triple B EP test press, or anything from the Note and before.

So there you have it. That’s my list. It’s not too much to ask, I don’t think. Feel free to pool your money. And if you can’t find any of those, I’d settle for this …

MOTHER OF MERCY no eden TEST PRESS

Seller colinrrmf has got a little addition to Test Press Tuesday. Here is a test press of Mother of Mercy’s No Eden. This came out on Collapse Records in 2008 and I think jump started the band pretty well, I’m pretty sure they only had demo CD-R’s and no demo tapes. I think this record is awesome and it would be awesome to have one of these in my own collection and I’m going to keep an eye on it.

TPT: Darkthrone – A BLAZE IN THE NORTHERN SKY

I’m no “Mr. Know it all Black Metal dude”, but I figured that someone out there would be interested in this Darkthrone test press for the A Blaze in the Northern Sky release on the original 1991 Peaceville records. Seller henryspencer77 is providing us with the auction today and I feel as if the starting bid of 334.99 is scaring some people away. Set the reserve for that and let the ebayers put in their own work.

The main reason why I posted this up was because of a great 2 part youtube of Fenriz I saw. Fenriz is one of the driving forces behind Darkthrone and he breaks down the history of black metal in this great “lecture” style video. If you are interested in beginnings of Black Metal and proto-Black Metal I’d check the youtube videos I post below.
