Test Press Tuesday Starts With Tre.

Which is fortunate, because without these two from Tre, we’d actually have nothing to kick off the day with. Yes, it’s gonna be a slow one here on Test Press Tuesday; not because of lack of material but because I haven’t had time to write any of it up. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to provide some more posts later in the day; until then what we have here are two tests for records that are rated HP, for Heavy Pitting.

No More Games: Pre-Order Edition.

I think BMurphy would agree that we’d like to see a little more action on this Stick Together “No More Games” ep being sold by xxxevilxxx666 (who we hope is doing ok after the quake and tsunami this past weekend)…

The blue color scheme for this version is a great one. Not that I don’t dig the green on the cover of the regular pressing (blue was for pre-orders), but it just works so well with the baby blue vinyl. Even the bonus stickers are in blue! Just a great, great color scheme for the entire kit and caboodle.

#’d 74/100.

Teen Idles BIN

Lotsa BIN auctions up right now from deface43. Starting prices are kinda high, but this one seems reasonable to me.

First press Teen Idles here with the original heavy stock cover, these things are IMPOSSIBLE to find in clean shape since the covers scuff real easy (similar to AF 7″ or 2nd press In My Eyes 7″). This one is definitely one of the better copies I’ve ever seen, and the price has been climbing steadily, so that BIN button is awfully tempting.

Six Pack: Alternative Tentacles Pressing.

One last sk82dth auction this morning; as with the others, this one is ending tonight, and I’m posting it to see how it does, since right now it’s got zero bids.

What makes this auction neat, is that it’s for the UK pressing done by Alternative Tentacles, and quite frankly it’s the first one I’ve ever seen up, which makes me extra curious as to how it’ll do.

Hated And Proud.

Another high starter from sk82dth that I expect to get bid on in these last hours…

In addition to wondering whether or not this one will go for much more than it’s start (they haven’t been going much higher than 60 lately sez Popsike), I also wonder how many people realize that this isn’t the actual IC record with Crucified on it, and how many just assume that the best known song goes with the best known cover art.

Licorice Pizza.

Seller sk82dth had a bunch of auctions sneak through until now because of high starting bids, and as we count down the final hours I’m curious to see how many go higher than their start. We’ll start with the rare Black Flag “Licorice Pizza” ep, which got it’s name not from a disgusting choice of pizza topping, but from the Licorice Pizza record store this was given away at:

That’s right: this 2 song live record was given away at a Black Flag show at Licorice Records. It’s also the first recorded appearance of Rollins as front man, and as I understand it are pretty rare, so I think this will grab some more bids before the time is up.

Righteous Jams – Clarification Requested

Clarification requested! goodxgoodxthings tells a story about the Righteous Jams demo EP that I honestly don’t recall at all.

somehow I found 2 versions of this record one with the Spoiler drawing on the cover and this black one, don’t remember what the deal wit that was… I guess some printing error, but somehow I remember hearing that the band didn’t like the Spoiler drawing… anyone remember the righteous story? then share it on vinylnoize.com!

I don’t recall that at all. I just remember they were expensive to get because you had to order a bunch from AMRecords at a time. I guess that’s how Europeans feel when they order US records. It was just an unexpected price, considering RJ was a local band. I think it would have cost me less to drive to Joey C’s house, buy him dinner and buy an EP from him than it was to order it from Europe. That’s how it goes.

But if anyone remembers what the deal with the covers is, please spill. Personally, I think the Spoiler cover kills it. Great looking sleeve. Of course, it would have benefited by mentioning “Boston Straight Edge.” Ha
