Rare Soundgarden Fopp EP (SubPop 1988) Double 12″ Acetate

ryebread is selling a rare 12″ acetate of Soudgarden’s EP Fopp. Fopp was originally released in 1988 on Subpop and was limited to 3000 copies. It features 2 covers (Fopp/Ohio Player, Swallow My Pride/Green River) one Soundgarden original Kingdom of Come and a remix of Fopp. The asking price for these acetates is quite steep. But when you consider how rare it is to find one you might want to crack open the PayPal account. I just got a copy of Fopp still in the shrink from Long In The Tooth Records in Philadelphia.

Emperor’s Return

Celtic Frost seem to have come back around in popularity over the past few years, probably due to the reunion tour they did a couple years ago plus Tom Warrior’s recent books and the recent Hellhammer discography 3xLP. The first three 12″ records (Morbid Tales, Emperor’s Return and To Mega Therion) are pretty defining moments in the realm of death metal, and all three have steadily risen in price in the past few years. This one’s fully signed, which is not really my cup of tea but it’s pretty cool none the less. Good pics included with the description too.

One of my favorite things about this EP in particular is that the song Dethroned Emperor — CF basically re appropriated the riff from Diamond Head, and then the riff was subsequently re appropriated by Agnostic Front and Wrecking Crew. Read a more academic take on the whole situation here.

BAD BRAINS – I And I 12″ cheap buy it now

Pretty cheap BIN on this great 12″, someone should snag this with the quickness. The cover has a little wear, but pretty much any copy you find is going to look similar. I believe the HC songs on the flip side (Destroy Babylon / Coptic Times / Joshua’s Song) are from the Rock For Light sessions, but with a rawer mix. Ric Ocasek be damned.
