Warzone Wednesday with a Fist

Another hit from gernblandsten. This time it’s the first pressing of the Warzone LP on Fist. That’s the one with the cool handwriting on the back. I remember when I first noticed the difference between these two. “Hey wait, this one has weird handwriting on the back, but mine doesn’t.” The differences “back then” between pressings was a lot different than now. Simpler almost. Oh the good ole days! Now, these pesky kids and their million different colors… damn them!

12 Hours Left To Get A “Private Release”.

I know what you’re thinking: while the End The Warzone comp is nowhere near as valuable a score as the Straight Ahead 12″, it’s no slouch, and sellers are willing to try for ridiculous BINs on it like the one we saw the other day, so why the discrepancy between the opening bids on locanda2 auctions? It’s a pretty simple answer that I think you can figure out on your own… “private release” is a pretty classy way of spelling it out, don’t you think?

Meanwhile, the legitimate record sits unbid upon as we get down into the final half day, due to the plus size starting bid…

the allmighty…. GWAR!

Growing up my parents were always really into music. My dad was big on the Beatles & Zappa and my mom was really into the Rolling Stones & Eric Clapton. They both loved Bob Segar, CSN, the Doobie Brothers and a ton of other bands. They also both liked newer bands as I was growing up and supported music I was into even though it wasn not their style.

I remember seeing pictures of Oderus & Balsac from Gwar in an issue of Metal Maniacs magazine in 1988 and being obsessed with hearing them. I wasnt even really sure how to say the name of the band but I started calling all the record stores on Thayer street in Providence every weekend to find out if they had ‘Hell-o’ by Gwar. After literally months of calling Tom’s Tracks finally had a copy but said they couldnt hold it for me. I begged my mom & dad to make the track from Woonsocket or Providence so I could finally hear the mighty Gwar and they agreed.

I still have that LP and I put it on the other day, amazingly its still holds up! the costumes have gotten many times better over the years and we have been introduced to many new characters, but that first record is still pretty damn good for what it is!

hivoltagerecords has a ton of other auctions so even if your not into Gwar check them out!

Tre in Chile?!?

Did Tre lie to us all and use all his funds to up and move to chile? If not then remission is just lifting Tre’s pictures from a couple weeks ago. Seller has good feedback so maybe hes just lazy? Id like to think that Tre has moved to beachside Chile.

Bananas Both Ripe And Unripe.

Our wonderful, dear, dear friend Tre is back to unload even more of his record collection. I am unaware of any pressing medical bills for Alabama, so he must just be trying to pay off the air conditioning bills from last week’s heat wave. That thing was a bitch. I bought bananas on Monday, and it was so hot they rotted before I could eat them all. The rotting process kind of went like this:

Monday:

Wednesday:

Thursday:

Friday:

*- rotting process exaggerated for purposes of color co-ordination with GB 7 inches.

Underdog New Beginning First Press # 2

Is the price on linksny’s Underdog 7″ too high for you as it moves into it’s final day? Well, good news: seller acesxhigh has got you covered, with this version of the exact same press (1st) started at only 99 cents…

And answer Murphy’s question from the previous Underdog post, I did not actually watch Underdog at United Blood this year. Shocking, I know. But somehow the crotch of my pants was completely torn out during Terror, and I spent all of Underdog trying to find ways to keep my privates private.

1st press Nervous Breakdown!

westwoodonebob is selling what I consider to be possibly the 2nd most important record in punk rock. I chose to put up a picture of the back of the sleeve because I love the artwork of the 5 girls lined up. Has there ever been a shirt of that? I want a shirt of just the girls, that would rule!

The seller says that this is being sold out of a collection that a tenant that owed him rent left in an apartment. I think hes gonna make out on this sale!

Perhaps you already have a 1st press sleeve and you just need the vinyl? Unlikely, but heres just the 7″ incase!

Reagan Youth sells Minor Theat signed by Brian Baker

alpo39 is a member of Reagan Youth and he is selling a 1st Press Minor Threat 7″. He is the original owner it looks like its in amazing condition! Last week Cooch said he doesnt understand why people spend more on a record because its coming from a member of another cool band. Lets see if anything like that happens here!

I’ve said before that I’m a huge fan of signed records, but I dont know if I consider it a bonus or not that this record is signed by Brian Baker on the back of the sleeve. If it was signed by all 4 members or maybe just by Ian I would think it was really cool, but just the Brian Baker signature doesnt really make it a more desirable record to me.

This one is currently at about 1/2 of what the last one (sold by a member of SSD) and it ends in less than 12 hours so I’m curious to see where it ends up.

I hear the same old talk, talk, talk!

It looks as though robase has apparently ditched DJ E-Z Rock and hip hop completley in favor of dealing in rare highend hardcore records. Its like the Fresh Prince ditching Jazzy Jeff all over again!

Hugely important early hardcore/punk record. Sounds like its in great shape except for a small split on the fold of the sleeve. Its records like this that make me wish I was a multi-millionaire so that I could just click ‘buy it now’ without thinking at all!
