Three Demos

ragingbull20 brings 3 demos for your enjoyment. I can describe two of three. Someone else is going to have to fill me in on the third.

#1 – Team Effort. Don’t know. Tell me.

#2 – Wake Up Call. WUC is from Maine. They rolled thick with the Outbreak and Cruel Hand dudes. I saw them a few times, and enjoyed them. Grabbed a shirt or a demo at the Welfare Records (pre Anchors Up) gig with Down To Nothing, Have Heart, Cruel Hand and Lie And Wait. It was an awesome gig. These dudes stuck it out for 4-5 years and then broke up. Not sure they ever got their due.

#3 – Vitality. Out of Texas. My copy of this demo is numbered out of 100. These dudes were previously in Where We Stand. I never got to see Vitality live, but I’m a big fan of the demo. This Walk is top notch. Super positive vibe, into it. What up, Jack?

So, someone fill me in on Team Effort. Word.

Great Reads, Courtesy of The LOC Crew

Oh shit. Nothing better than a good zine on a cold, shitty day. Grab one of these zines from redscrollstore, a cold coke zero, some chips and hummus, and you have yourself a great fucking day. The mid 2Ks were a great era for zines in general, and the Lockin Out Crew wasn’t about to miss that boat. These zines are filled with great stories, interviews and as the seller describes it “tom-foolery.” These are a great example of the power of the LOC.

Lockin Out Records Number One Fanzine Issue #1. Just a great start. t.A.T.u n00dz, Chris Corry stories, and an excellent Crunchtime tour diary. A great start to a short lived zine. It had everything one could expect from the wacky mind of Greg Mental.

Lockin Out Records Number One Fanzine Issue #2. Oh man, continuing the glory. This one was a constant bathroom reader zine in a few apartments I lived in. A great go to zine. A definite favorite.

What do you know about Trumbull Escapades? Life is good in this world. Owen and Sami kept it real and have expanded their enterprises. Dumb if you aren’t reading http://trumbullisland.com on the regular. You honestly never know what you’re going to get. I’m feeling it. This one bangs back to July 2004. So good.

Trumbull EscapadesJuly 2005. Another great read. This one was a constant in my car. Each interview/story is pretty short and compact. I would pull it out at long red lights and just laugh my ass off. There is a great AIM conversation with this random chick. If that doesn’t have you laughing, you better get your health checked. Such a good read.
