Vinyl Noize | A Shot For Bracken

Among his many, many auctions, duckysellsit has a large selection of punk, hardcore, and oi comps. So I’ve created my own compilation of the ones I think are worth a look. A compilation of comps, if you will.

Moondog, Rorschach, Bad Trip, Citizens Arrest… yes. This is a good one. 1000 pressed, the first 500 were on white vinyl with a screen printed cover.

I used to have this one on cassette. The Scream and Flag of Democracy tracks in particular are killer. Oh, and there’s also a little song on here called We Just Might by some band called Youth Of Today…

This would be one of the mid/late 80s pressings of this classic Dischord comp, so not exactly the rarest version you could find, but an all time classic comp.

Turncoat by Youth Defense League makes an appearance here, along with many of the usual Oi comp suspects. But really, I picked it for the cover art.

This one had two different covers, this one and a “Robbie Fields” cover that looked sort of Pettibon-ish. No idea on the actual pressing info though. Even Posh Boy’s own site has a blank spot under the lp cover on it’s discography page.

This double lp was printed both in the US and Europe. The way to tell the difference is the printing on the labels, which you can’t see in this pic. I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess US, since the seller is in the US. Comp features Cause For Alarm, Dead Kennedys, Septic Death… and Wargasm? I got really excited/weirded out for a second (a Boston thrash metal band on an almost exclusively left wing punk/hardcore comp?), but then I realized this came out in 1984, and the Boston Wargasm didn’t take on that name til ’86. I’m actually sort of bummed.
