AC/DC – pre-Bon Scott

I really dont expect anyone here to care about this, much less bid on it. But man do I want this thing. famednframed has AC/DC’s first single on Albert from before Bon Scott joined. Dave Evans was their first singer. Can you imagine if they never gave him the boot? Those first 6 albums would have been a whole different story.

AC/DC box set amp!

I remember hearing about this box set a while ago when it came out, but I dont know if I’ve ever seen one before. tommy_rocker_007 is selling the super deluxe version of the AC/DC ‘Backtracks’ box set.

This set includes 3 CDs of rare live & studio tracks, 2 DVDs of assorted live and backstage stuff, an exclusive LP of rare studio tracks, some reproductions of old promo items like posters, flyers, guitar picks & pins and a 164 page AC/DC coffee table book! If thats not enough for you (and I’m sure its not!) all of this stuff comes back into a box that replicates a guitar 1/2 stack amp…. and the amp really works! Yup, you can plug in your vintage Gibson SG and rock along to your AC/DC rarities box set using your box set as the amp!

Its expensive, but its pretty damn cool!

AC/DC – TNT LP orig

OK, so this is technically the second press of this LP (the first has dark blue labels), but it’s still the original Australian version, to which there is no “international” counterpart pressing. Basically AC/DC recorded this and High Voltage in 1975 and then when they gained some notoriety outside of kangaroo-land, Atlantic Records combined 7/9ths of this record and a coupla tracks from the orig Aussie High Voltage into a new “international” version of High Voltage.

Long story short: this is the only way to get what I think is the best AC/DC record, in its original vinyl form. The cover art is way cooler (and a gatefold) and there’s a great cover of Chuck Berry’s “School Days” that’s not on the other versions. These Albert press LP’s hit a steady $50–75 these days in nice shape, so this could be a good buy for the budding Acca Dacca collector.
