As is known to happen, I was about to post to an auction that someone else posted. So if you are interested in the original Antidote 7″, Check out Doug’s good post here.
But one of the things that I was going to touch on is that there are so many versions of this record. If you aren’t a committed collector, or maybe just aren’t THAT big of an antidote fan. Maybe you would prefer a repress of the original 7″, or there are even 12″ versions of the 7″.
Time for the heavy hitters to come out! redscrollstore has an absolute rager of NYHC up for grabs.
Thou Shalt Not Kill is considered more of a museum piece than a hardcore record these days. Rare as hell. Even rarer to find it in good condition as most of the covers yellow and curl with time. It’s been bootlegged and reissued and still the original keeps going up in value.
This auction started yesterday at $1 and turned into $100 in a hurry. You have got to like the balls of a seller who can start low and let the market dictate the value.
It will be fun to see how much this ends up selling for. Half a mortgage payment? Family of four grocery bill?
I’m only asking because I’m thinking of taking a run at it and want to see how much trouble I will be in.
I kick myself every time I see this Dynamo 7″ which is being sold here by coldstares. I remember getting out of shows at CBGB (might have been CroMags shows?) and these were being given away for free outside to exiting concert goers. I didnt take one, because I am stupid. This record is really cool and under appreciated. Also kind of hard to find and fetches a decent penny. Do yourself a favor and bid.

Starting with the A’s… I’ve been watching him try to flog this Antidote 7″ at record shows, on ebay (with high BIN), on message boards and probably elsewhere for the past 4 or so years, to no avail. I’m glad to finally see him put it up at auction and just let it go for whatever someone wants to pay. Honestly this is probably a good chance to score this record cheap if you’re not a condition freak, as I’ve seen the wax and it’s nice and clean. Have at it.
It always makes me laugh when people confuse the two Antidote’s. Has this always happened? One time this even happened to me in person when I was wearing an Antidote shirt (the NY one, duh). Anyway, here rockandroll19612011 even writes “classic East Coast hardcore” haha come on, guy. I’ve never herd the UK Dutch band, but I like UK82 punk like Vice Squad, Adicts, Abrasive Wheels, etc. so I’d probably like it allright.
My fellow eye-tal Arthur Bonzerelli aka bookwormnj has unleashed an amazing looking copy of the Antidote ep on the market, and I have to agree with his assessment of it being the cleanest copy I’ve (he’s) ever seen.
This is one of the few I’ve seen with a fold-open sleeve, I’m assuming the band got lazy after gluing hundreds of covers by hand and just cut the glue tabs off and stuffed ‘em into bags. Anyone know for sure?

These things have been getting exponentially more expensive in the past few years, so maybe that $200 opening bid will scare away some people and this can be had for cheap. Good luck
I wish crrussum had a cool story to explain the strange double lettering that occurs on his copy of the Antidote “Thou Shalt Not Kill” ep that he has up right now, but the fact is there’s really no explanation needed- it seems pretty clear that it’s just a printing error from when the covers were made. Not that it matters. It’s an original Thou Shalt Not Kill. It takes far more than a printer screw up to make someone not go for it, even with a $350 starting bid.
I know there are cassette comps which hold more clout that these Open Your Eyes #1 & #2, but just take a look at the line up on these puppies. That’s a lot of comp. for your buying dollar. I love these things.

Is it just me, or have we seen a bunch of Antidote “Thou Shalt Not Kill” ep’s turn up on eBay lately? Maybe I’m just getting my head all screwed up by all the bootlegs and the people flipping the color versions of the B9 repress. Regardless, boogierock69 has an original up for grabs…
Even as I write this, he’s tossed up this original Cause For Alarm ep.
Is this a sign of more good auctions to come? I don’t know, but I know I’m going to be keeping an eye on him. Oh yes I am.
I don’t even know who or what a Kylesa is, but balduin44 has two items up from them, and one of them has Pushead artwork so suffice to say, I’m interested. If their MySpace wasn’t such a hellstorm of html, I’d check it out and see what it sounds like. My guess is stoner prog metal.

Joking post title aside, if you don’t want to at least try your luck at winning god_among_men_77′s most recent record auction, there’s something wrong with you.
I literally watched this one go up the other night; I hit refresh on my search page and low and behold, there it was. I shouldn’t even have to explain to any of you what the (real) deal is, I know we all know it. One of the first, one of the best, and arguably never surpassed. Think about it. The mosh in Foreign Job Lot is over 25 years old, yet it’s still in the top 5 ever.
Is seller stone4124 Drew Stone from Antidote? It seems like a logical assumption; who else is going to have a test press available and also be selling two B9 Antidote tees so soon after the release of the re-release?
Can you just imagine what this would end at if this was for a test press of the original pressing? Yikes.
A couple of weeks ago I posted some Antidote 7″s from the recent Bridge 9 Re-Release and an older bootleg version. I made a guess about what an original one would sell for and was way off!
If you’re a big fan and are just not happy with the Re-Release then here is your chance to pick up an OG. It looks pretty beat for the price and it comes with a photocopy in place of the original insert, but I’ve spent more money on stupider things!
robase has this single for sale as well as a bunch of other vinyl, most at seemingly better prices.
