Bane – 10 Year Anniversary 7 inch

Seller delapasion is offering up one hell of a collector-ready hardcore record for your collection.

Everything about this record is cool. Bane do a 10 Year Anniversary tour, and don’t have 7″s ready. So the band press the two songs they recorded onto a cd instead. They put the cd into 7″ sleeves and sell them at shows.
Each cd has a redemption code you send in and you receive the 7″ in the mail when they are ready, plus you get to keep the cd. Months later, you have your record.

Now you can have one without all the fuss, hassle and waiting around!

A total of 450 were pressed, each hand numbered on the cd and the 7″ sleeve. Most of the vinyl was on orange and white swirl like this one, but there was also a green and yellow one too. Now you just have to track that one down…

Holding This Test Press

One of my fellow countrymen, martin_arnold123, is selling his Bane ‘Holding This Moment’ test press, numbered 19/20. As you can probably tell from the photo, this is a test of the 12″ reissue from last year on Hurry Up Records, not the original 7″ on Equal Vision. It’ll be interesting to see how high this goes. The price of Bane tests seems pretty high right now, but because I’m lucky enough to already have one of these, I’m just gonna sit back and watch the bidding war from the cheap seats.

Free To Think, Free To Mosh

You already know I love this Bane EP. But there is more to this one than meets the eye. I got this info from Dalbec. Apparently, when they were distributing these EPs, he stashed 1-26 (why 26? Or was it 24? it definitely wasn’t 25) to give to friends and family. The one from earwax666hotmail is #6. If I were you, I’d assume this came from an interesting collection. Someone connected to the band in some shape or form. I also love that the yellow vinyl has a “yellow” stamp and of course, the black vinyl has a “black” stamp. Details, details.

And if you are interested in some OLD footage, check out this Backbone gig from Sir Morgan’s Cove in Worcester with Cast Iron Hike. The Bad Brains tee in the audience is dope.

Give More, Give Everything, But Only Give $14

Ugh, some sellers can suck it. Take lazylabradorrecords. He’s currently selling a copy of Bane’s Give Blood 10th Anniversary LP. This is the EVR version on red vinyl. And interestingly, the seller is only asking for $99 (don’t forget that free shipping!!!) … Thing is, you can STILL BUY THIS ONLINE from EVR. Ooooooffff. There are 3 colors. One from EVR, the others from Triple B Records. You can still buy those from Sam here. Get on it. Don’t support this seller, buy from the band.

Thankful For This Gig: 10-30-99

Since it’s Thanksgiving, I’ll give you a run down on a gig I’m thankful for. Hell, I’m thankful on the whole month of gigs, but this one gig was just stupendous. The It All Comes Down To This record release at the Worcester Palladium on October 30th, 1999. Keep in mind, this was less than two weeks after the “last” Ten Yard Fight gig (National Edge Day). I had also just got back from a week long vacation in New Orleans. Solid end of the month.

This particular gig was Bane (of course), Converge, Reach The Sky and Dillinger Escape Plan. Talk about a stacked lineup. And like I said, just weeks after the first Nat’l Edge Day gig. Crazy, to say the least. The joint was PACKED. Crazy packed. For a lineup like that, I’d expect nothing else. Every band seemed to play perfect sets. Nothing super long, just action packed. The pit never seemed to slow down. Solid gig.

You can pick up the limited record release merch from neal_taflinger (why is that name ringing a bell?). I’m tempted to pop on this auction myself. My size medium tee has shrunk over the years (no, it wasn’t me getting fat …), and it wouldn’t hurt to have an extra copy on pink vinyl. Pink is what you get when your attempt to swirl red and white go sour. Whoops. Limited to 100.

* It was a toss up on whether I should post this here or on TTD. Tell your shirt friends about this one, as it’s a great tshirt. First time the skull was used in the A…

Actually Giving Blood

A few days back, I waxed poetically about the Give Blood repress. I’m obviously looking forward to it. If you haven’t ordered your copy yet, do it now. But at the time, there was no Bane Give Blood album up on ebay. That’s changed. the1234gorecordsstore just upped the clear/coffee press. This one is limited to 250 slabs. Not as desired as the red/clear split, but still a solid item to add to your collection.

ps. The majority of respondents to our previous contest said “Ante Up” was their favorite track on Give Blood. Can you blame them? Some Came Running and Sunflowers and Sunsets. You can’t go wrong.

Bane – Give Blood 10th Anniversary

You know I’m psyched about this Bane LP repress. When Sam first told me about it, I was AMPED. No doubt. Give Blood is a staple in my household. One banging track after another. And Pete did a great job with the original lineup. Lots of solid pictures, looks sharp. Sam told me about his ideas for the 10th anniversary pressing, and it blew my mind. He was going crazy. He was talking embossed, gatefold, giant insert, … Crazy talk, right? Guess not, because that’s what he is releasing. Amazing. I highly suggest you preorder it right now!!

As for the original pressing, it’s wildly missing from ebay. I figured when the repress was announced, kids would start cashing in. Not the case. Weird. You’ll have to “settle” for the Free To Think, Free To Be EP. Limited to 300, hand numbered. First press. Grab it from books_vinylnmor.

Miles Away “Endless Roads” Ltd Edition and tour dates!

I just caught this one from josh_blanc182 with hours to spare. This is for you all you late nighters and coremen down under. The “deluxe” edition of Miles Away’s latest record. I put the record out in the US but this is the European Anchors Aweigh version. I feel like the dude had some leftover vinyl with no covers so he came up with the deluxe edition to sell the off. No shame in that game. They sold out in about 2 minutes online. The price is already pretty steep but this record is awesome.

Sidenote – Ive never had as many people email me trying to buy test pressings of one of my release as with this record.

Also! Miles Away is starting a US tour next week with Bane, Defeater and Dead End Path. Heres the tour poster, a silkscreen copy of which will be sold at the shows! This was created by the crew over at art4punks, cool.

A Big Blurry Bane Lot

Earlier this week, I picked up the At Both Ends test press from a good friend I’ve never met. Yeah, internet friends for years. I was pretty stoked. If you recall, this was the zine and ep box set that was limited to just 5 million colors. I resigned myself to never getting them all, but when I saw the test press pop up for cheap, I pounced. Very happy with that move. And of course, there are the other EPs that came out a year or two back. Lots of them. Each limited per label, but they take many stops to pick them up. rambeaupunk has done most of that work for you. Grab this one giant (blurry) lot and you’ll have most of them. Good luck.

Boston BINS!

Ebay seller everyonerage26 has listed up some pretty reasonable BINS which I don’t expect to be there in the morning. Most of the auctions are for Boston area bands, so get your bid on!

Bane – Free To LOL, Free To Scoop

Free To Think, Free To Be is one of my favorite EPs from the 90s. It’s awesome, I’m a big fan (and you know this, man!). But what we are looking at here is befuddling. Both of the EPs from agrarerecords and xsepticedgex are second press. Both are black vinyl. One is number 80/200, the other is numbered 120/200. The puzzling part is this: one has a BIN of $101. The other has a BIN of $30. One BIN is outrageously high, the other BIN is so low I feel stupid for not getting a clean double. Weird. You see, the difference between scoop and LOL, well, it’s a thousand miles wide …

Update: Does agrarerecords read this site? He relisted his auction with a more reasonable BIN.

Test Press … Thursday: Bane

Not sure if you ever check out Hows Your Edge? but it’s another one of my projects. I’m always keeping busy. Either way, over the weekend, I posted up a pickup post. In that post, I discussed my latest Bane test press pickups. But most of the post was me talking about the first Bane EP test press passing through my hands twice. It happens. Now this could be happy coincidence, but somnifac just upped that EXACT test press again. I like the opening bid price, but am not super psyched on the BIN price. I’ve got my eyes on it so we’ll see. This one could be mine, maybe it won’t pass through my hands to someone else this time.

Bane Collection: Spot Fillers

Looking to fill some spots in your Bane collection? Look no further, goochedge has what you are looking for. And these aren’t just recent EPs. Hell no. He has the goods from the early aughts. Something for everyone.

Not limited to 50. More like 125, but hey, that’s ok.

Euro tour, hot.

Was this also a Euro tour press? I’m pretty sure it was. I recall having Jeremy or Dalbec bring one back for me.

No viruses or n00dz. Just a weirdo web form and music. Great jams.

Hailing From Worcester, Ma.

Posting that Saves the Day video earlier made me think of legendary Worcester venue The Space. And thinking of The Space naturally made me think of Bane, a band I saw there probably hundreds of times. And naturally, the seller of the STD ep’s I posted that inspired me to post the video (you may have heard of him, his name is Tre) has the makings of a Bane start up collection available for you to get your grubby lil mitts on…

All Systems Go.

Ah here’s a blast of memory from the past for me thanks to mnl_studios

You see, once upon a time in our youth, DFJ and I were in a band called Turned Away. That band was supposed to be on this comp, doing a cover of Gorilla Biscuits “Hold Your Ground” (I may have actually mentioned this when talking about Hard Stance before, since Discrepancy is the song DFJ and I WANTED to do, but whatever; I’m old, old people repeat themselves). Thankfully, our systems ended up stopped, and we ended up not making the cut for reasons I actually never found out. Not that it wouldn’t have been cool to be on it; I say thankfully because a., our guitar player couldn’t play in time, so the song sounded goofy, and b. the layout the bass player (Crucial Chris from The Trust/DBNO) made featured a candid picture of me fitting an entire microphone in my mouth while goofing around at practice. Thankfully, evidence of neither of these things exists anywhere to my knowledge. In fact, I made this story completely up, and let’s never speak of it again.
