I know we’re a bit past Halloween, but seller sad_sam501 apparently has a Misfits “Beware” test press up that would have fit right in at midnight Halloween eve… because Halloween was on a Monday you see, so it would have simultaneously ended Halloween AND kicked off Test Press Tuesday. Anyways, it’s really anyone’s guess just WHAT kind of test press of Beware this actually is- he says the songs don’t sound the same and there’s really no info with the test itself, but he also says he’s had it since 1980 so he doesn’t believe it to be a boot… your guess is as good as mine. Personally, I’m thinking a boot. Gotta figure if there was any chance of it being legit it would have seen some action 7 days in…

I Assume They Will Be Buying A Haunted House.
Meet Ken and Jenn. They’re a nice young couple looking to buy a house. A challenging prospect in these troubled times. Fortunately, they have an ace in the financing hole: a Misfits collection so deep, it makes me want to hang myself in my closet in despair over the knowledge that I will never be able to afford the creation of a collection this large, let alone a house.
My jealousy aside, I do have to admit, the end of October is actually a really smart time to sell off your Misfits collection, especially if you’re trying to get as much as humanly possible for it so that you can buy a house. Interest in the Misfits always skyrockets this time of year…
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. I’ll be bringing you more through out the week, if I can keep myself out of the rafters. And if I can’t… well, then they’ll be getting a haunted house no matter what. Heh.
More More Misfits.
Some more Misfits stuff from my favorite WarHammer fan plaguebearerofnurgle to round out the day…
Fall Is In The Air.
And with fall comes the hardcore scene’s sudden remembrance of how great the Misfits are. Personally, I celebrate them all year long, and I know Josh does too, but when fall rolls around is usually when you start seeing the Misfits covers start popping up regularly at shows and such… eBay however is immune to this seasonal disorder, as there’s always a good Misfits auction or two rolling around to bid on.
Gotta love vintagevinyl‘s tiger print backgrounds…
That was quick.
Seller nuttymad has really been cleaning up with the record collection clean out. And things show no signs of slowing down. As of this writing (1:16am), this original Misfits “Beware” lp hasn’t even been up for 12 hours, yet it’s already at $76.00 and climbing.
“Beware Bollards”
Another high-end record from paulsux. Coming Straight out of New Jersey…. MISFITS… BEWARE!
There have been a lot of bootlegs of this 12″ but this one appears to be a legit copy. Beware was originally suposed to be released to promote a 1979 UK tour, but the sleeve was not finished by the time the Misfits got there. Glenn actually came up with the title after seeing a sign that said “Beware Bollards” during the tour. The record was finally released in January of 1980 by Plan 9, Armageddon/Spartan, Cherry Red Records. The one time pressing has been rumored to be as high as 15,000 but its believe that its much closer to only 1500 copies.
BEWARE…. Its probably not a real test pressing
The seller says that he is mainly a reggae collector so he doesnt know much about this record. Even though he admits he doesnt know much about it, he is still trying to sell it as possibly being a Misfits ‘Beware’ 7″ test pressing. Since the auction ends tomorrow and there are no bids I think its safe to say its not a test press… more likely a ‘fanclub pressing’ (bootleg) with no sleeve.
Take your chances for a $30 opening bid or just buy it and tell everyone its a Misfits test press!
