Sabbath + Tull = Blood Ceremony!

I will admit that the price that angular2 has on this LP is kind of high, but the regular retail price of it is around $25. Even though its a pricey record if you’re a fan of Black Sabbath, Pentagram & Jethro Tull I urge you to find a copy of this record!

I recently got a copy, just like this one on the clear/blood splattered vinyl and its amazing! Like Sabbath with doom female vocals and a flute!

There are at least 4 color/versions of this LP, but each one is limited to around 300 so you dont worry which one you get, just get one!

Rise Above… Rise Above!

Here is a trio of great psychadelic, doom, stoner metal releases from Rise Above Records. All three are totally worth taking for a spin if you’re into that genrea at all….

Its doubtful that ‘Exploration’ by Possessed would ever be confused with ‘Seven Churches’ or ‘Beyond the Gates’ by the other band of the same name. This Possessed is an amazing psych/doom/stoner metal band that formed in the UK during the late 60′s. They recorded what would eventually become ‘Exploration’ but for many reasons it was not released. In 1971 they were on the verge of signing a major deal when their a tragic van accident while driving home from a show killed three of the members. Thanks to Rise Above Records this record finally came out, in limited supply a couple of years ago.

“The Alchamist” is the third album (1997) from Swedish doom metal heroes Witchcraft. I’m not sure the exact pressing info, but I think that Rise Above Records does small presses and small quantities of each color. The sellers says this is black with gold specks vinyl and is lmited to 300 which sounds about right for this record.

Blood Ceremony is like the bastard child of Uriah Heep, Rainbow, Jethro Tull & Black Sabbath! This is the first record from the female fronted prog/psych/doom band from Canada. This record is also on Rise Above Records so its from a small pressing on a limited (very cool!) color. The clear vinyl with blood splatter fits the band perfectly, but it also came on a bunch of other colors and combos.
