Wacky Blue-Jinks

Endofanear (a great store in Austin, TX) brings us a record that I didn’t even know EXISTED until a couple of years ago when it popped up on ebay courtesy of an ex-member. You don’t see a lot of limited color pressings of early 80′s hardcore records, but the story goes that AOD pressed up a scant 50 copies of their 1983 debut LP on blue vinyl, and sent them out as promos. To date, I’ve only seen one other non-ebay copy turn up (in the MRR library) so I’d venture a guess that most of the other 47 got swallowed up into the abyss by radio stations and defunct fanzines.

76% Uncertain

Test press collector itsxdead brings out one of the lesser known releases from Wishingwell Records, 76% Uncertain’s ‘Hunka Hunka Burnin Log’ LP on limited blue vinyl. Like most Wishingwell color pressings, this one is quite hard to find, although it doesn’t usually sell for anywhere near as much as the Youth Of Today, Uniform Choice or Insted LPs. Maybe that’s because it’s nowhere near as much an influential record. It’s not as good as their ‘Estimated Monkey Time’ LP either. But still, a good one to have if you want that complete Wishingwell collection. And currently sitting at $14.99 with only one day left to go. Get your 2012 off to a good start by adding some color Wishingwell wax to your collection.

BLUE-MEGA DRONE.

Kind of surprised to see that this former dollar bin staple being sold by statement-of-pride is already in the 20 buck range. Not that it doesn’t deserve to be- EFAE is a tremendously under rated band, and the blue pop up far less often than the black, but it’s still a pleasant surprise.

Blue Crew.

Damn did this one from deekymutombo blow up fast- when I drafted it a day or two ago I don’t even think it was at $10! But that’s to be expected when you have a record as rare as a copy of 7 Seconds “The Crew” on a deceptive clear blue vinyl that only looks it when you hold it up to the light that was limited to 250…

L’esercito Del Morto.

Alright people, come on. There is no good reason for posisteve’s copy of L’esercito Del Morto to be sitting here with 2 days to go, a super low start, and zero bids. Just literally no reason. This is a FANTASTIC record. One of the best of 2000, and it always goes cheap, because people are fools.

I do however understand fifthwardboy’s still sitting, as it’s a 19.99 BIN and like I said: this lp is under appreciated and usually goes cheap. Still, the make an offer button is right there…

DROP THE BOMB!

I think that the ‘Drop the Bomb’ 7″ was the 2nd test press I ever got (the first being the Dropdead discography 10″) and I was so psyched to have a test press of anything even slightly relating to Slapshot that I practicly peed myself. Little did I know that a few years later I would be rolling in Back on the Map test… ok, maybe not ‘rolling’ but I do have 3 of them!

Anyway, fifthwardboy has the blue vinyl version of what I think is the 2nd pressing pressing of this 7″. The grey vinyl version comes in this same sleeve, but has the ‘Steve Priest Fan Club’ lables where as this one comes in a ‘Steve Priest’ sleeve, but has Vulture Rock Records lables. Theres a black pressing with the Vulture Rock labels that comes in a full color sleeve with a differetn illustration.

So anyway, the grey vinyl is limited to 400 and this blue vinyl is limited to only 200 so if you’re sad that you’re not going to TNT Fest this weekend to see Patriot, Combat 84, The Cockney Rejects, Red Alert & Stormwatch then shoot an offer on this record, stay home & cry in your beer… OI!

The Blues.

One more batch of soon to be ended* auctions from seller apie666, and we really must be off our game to have not spotted any of them before. Especially since we posted his In My Eyes demo 7″ lot. That’s actually something that’s been bumming me out a lot lately: we haven’t really been maintaining a high output of postings. Kind of gives me the blues…

*- The We Bite pressing of Start Today actually is only just getting going.

Break Down The Walls

Looks like treasurefinderjenn2010 has found some treasure under her mattress, or maybe under her couch.

Is the opening bid here a good price for this record these days? I know it’s sold for more in the past but honestly I haven’t been keeping up.

Youth of Today On Blue.

Seller chainxcrew usually brings the goodness when it comes to his auctions, and this one is no exception:

I think the blue vinyl version is my favorite pressing of BDTW, and looking at the description, it appears the seller agrees:

In my opinion the blue vinyl looks a bit better than red due to the black clouds in the vinyl. It also pops up a lot less than red for some reason.

This has a high reserve, but his logic for it is sound, and it’s lower than the most recent price I found it having sold for on Popsike.

Insted x 3

145bpm has 3 different versions of the Insted Live at CBGBs LP. I actually have a blue vinyl copy that has a done drawing on the inner sleeve and is numbered #15 of 25 that someone said was from the record release. Does anyone have any info on that one??

So, maybe you like this gold/amber vinyl color?

Or maybe you would rather have the blue vinyl?

maybe you have a really bad ass slip matt on your turntable and you like to be able to see it through whatever record youre playing?

NA/Pick Your King.

Another pair of high priced, “questionable” items from xundergroundx

Now when I say “questionable”, I mean you should ask him a million questions, because he has a tendency to leave out need to know information until someone asks for it. He did it with the Pay To Cum he was trying to sell, he did it with Cause For Alarm ep we showed you yesterday, and if someone asks him about the NA 7 inch I bet that’s when he’ll finally mention that it’s 2nd press. The Pick Your King seems to have all the relevant info tho.

Follow Through Blue.

Is it just me or is the only color we ever see for Follow Through’s Taking It Back lp is the blue vinyl version, as sold by xxxevilxxx666?

If memory serves (FLEX is down as I write this), this also was on white and black, and knowing Craig I have to assume there were some red as well. Yet all I ever seem to find on eBay is blue. Not even black: just blue. Follow Through 7 inches seem to turn up more often than the other colors even. Very strange.

United Blue Blood.

FINALLY, after two posts mentioning the existence of it, we have a copy of the blue vinyl version of the No Justice Just Us benefit pressing of Agnostic Front’s United Blood e.p., this one brought to us by jimrockstar1.

There were actually two of these up about a week ago from dbdms, but one of our fellow contributors asked that we not post them. They both went for around 25 dollars, which seems to be the going rate for the red as well.

…And The Sheik Throwing Fire

My friend Mark used to own a record store in Western Mass circa 1996-1997called Community Chest Records (and previously a record label of the same name), and I remember walking in one day and asking him what was new, and he showed me this record. Albeit, it was the standard black vinyl pressing, but I was still pretty intrigued when he told me it was basically a reformed H100s with a new singer. That’s all it took for me to plunk down the 4 or 5 bucks for the record, and took it home and gave it a spin. At the time there weren’t a lot of bands doing this style, especially from America, so this was pretty hot shit as far as I was concerned. I missed their first show in WMass around the same time, but on the next trip they played an abandoned auto garage in Springfield and laid waste to the 30-40 people that were there. After that I saw these guys about 23,432 times and got to be pretty good friends with them, but was never able to track down one of these blue copies. Eventually my friend Mark who sold me the record in the first place traded me his copy for a Deathreat first LP gatefold, and cosmic order was restored to the record collecting universe. I think somewhere down the line I scored an acetate of this record, but that’s another story for another day.

Scum stats: I think the first run of these was 500 or 1,000 (can’t remember off hand), but only 100 were made on blue. There were a couple of weirdo cover variations with the blue copies, mostly involving clear acetates (like the copy up for sale here), and some had silver foil paper under the acetates. Either way, a tough record to get, so that $9.99 opening bid is pretty appealing imo.

Keep It Clear.

There is never a bad day to post a bunch of Floorpunch records. This is a fact. Sellers rekone05john and reggae_got_soul both go with the original 7 inch, with the latter’s being the blue vinyl version.

No idea what’s sticking out of the sleeve there. Probably an ad for the Growing Stronger comp or 97A or something. Meanwhile, xshcx and cnc_reinartz both go with a more recent release, with European tour presses of the discography double lp put out by Six Feet Under.
