We end Test Press Tuesday in a fashion only slightly less suspect than how we opened. You see, whiteiiis is selling off what is labeled as an original Bruce Springsteen “Born To Run” test press…

This could have been the copy that Bruce listened to in the studio when it was first cut onto vinyl. It was a working copy, the studio had paper taped to the back of the album that has been removed, they even wrote on the back cover itself. This copy is before the test pressings were made, before the labels, looks like they weren’t sure which side would be side 1, they are reversed on this label. Contains all the music that the album Born To Run has on it. It has MCR written in the tail off.

So in other words, this might be a test press of the test press? I dunno, I’d feel better about this one if there was even the slightest hint of authentication. Not that I’m saying this is a fake or something; the cover is definitely a mock up, as you can see the notes on it for where the album tracks and lyrics go, but an actual test press? I dunno. It’s something for sure, I’m just not so sure what. On the whole though, this is definitely a pretty cool item. I don’t know about it being a $500 item without better information, but a pretty cool item all the same.
