THE THINGS WE CARRY Record Release / Black vinyl

Another heavy hitter from Pat Flynn’s Have Heart vault. With only 40 of these made there aren’t many to go around and someone crazy is going to have to shell out big bucks for this. I wasnt at the show but i imagine they flew off the shelves there too.

Slightly more friendly on the wallet is this 4th pressing on black. Out of 100 copies its still hard to track down.

SSDecontrol 2-fer

Seller 33eyez has been liquidating a really nice collection of classic American hardcore records and printed goods over the past few months, and he just launched a nice new batch of goodies for everyone to get their greasy little mitts on.

Although these aren’t my two favorite X-Claim! releases — the #1 and #2 spots are reserved for My America and Is This My World?, respectively, and these guys rank #3 and #4 with Get It Away over Kids — I have to say that every time I see either of the covers, a little Carl Brutananadilewski pops up in my head and says, “Classic, total classic.”

Side note: never realized till recently that Pushead’s Get It Away art is a direct lift of a Spirit comic splash page by Will Eisner.

Is This My World?

Might as well make it three X-Claims in a row (and the three best, at that) with this great looking copy of ITMW from seller amerbs. I have to disagree with the post below though and say that this and My America are better than Get It Away, but really you can’t lose with any of them.

This has less than a day to go and it’s not sky high yet, so hopefully someone can take this home for a decent price.

Subject to My America

Kind of a weird little 2-fer here courtesy of brodies… I’m not quite sure why he wouldn’t just sell them separately given the nature of the rest of his auctions (not to mention these records have absolutely nothing in common other than they are both hardcore bands), but maybe someone can sneak in the back door and get a deal on these. Lots are good for that kind of thing.

Sharon Tates Phoetus & AriseFoeEndlessDiveSaid&Done!

heres a couple of Boston hardcore bands that we don’t see that much from around here…

S.T.P. (aka Sharon Tate’s Phoetus) was formed by Jordan Wood before his time in Deathwish & Slapshot. This 7″ was put out by 2 members of the band after a break up/reunion on ‘Bostons Finest Records’and is worth picking up, especially since its ending soon and has a low minimum bid!!

The thing I remember most about Dive is one show I went to at a grange hall in the middle of nowhere many years ago. I used to keep track of all the bands I saw and one of the friends I was with kept saying the bands on the bill over and over and its still branded into my brain…. ARISE FOE ENDLESS DIVE SAID AND DONE. I miss those days of going to shows with highschool friends!

Deathwish (hold the Tre)

Here’s the ultimate “lost” Boston hardcore record, courtesy of seller rock4light.

Deathwish recorded these three brutal shredders in late ’83, but for whatever reason the songs didn’t see the light of day until ’89 when future Matador Records guy Pat Amory pressed up this super limited (pseudo-bootleg?) 7″. I remember these being sold out of the back of Maximumrocknroll in the early 90s for $10 and thinking I should probably order one… unfortunately I never pulled the trigger and ended up paying through the nose for a copy years later. Lost & Found Records also pressed this up at some point, but this is the real McCoy that you should be spending your hard earned dollars on.

I’ve heard rumors of more songs from this session existing, but every time there’s talk of a new reissue, things never seem to come together. One of these days, hopefully. Guitarist Jordan Wood (RIP) went on to play in Slap Shot and bassist Bobby Frankenheim plays in the current incarnation of DYS.

Transatlantic Thrashers

More from artpunkfool

Two certified rippers that borrowed heavily from early Boston hardcore. I always wanted a copy of this Heresy 7″, but unfortunately the price has skyrocketed in the past few years and I just don’t see myself ponying up the bucks for a copy. Such a posi looking record though, and I love the split fountain print job. Also I’m into the idea of grading a record’s condition as “fresh as a daisy”. Infest on the other hand… no collection is complete without this tasty platter. Such a brutal band/record/etc etc.
