GENERATION OF CASH

I wonder what are the actual reasons the Americans have for not wanting to post abroad. There’s one clear benefit: the number of bidders increases immensely and with countries that did not go to any war and are in good economical standing people have money to spend. I can’t see a single reason and I do mean it, not even one, for not wanting to send records worldwide.

I was recently checking the prices of Misfits Beware as I am thinking of selling one and all of the recent ones sold for anything between $250 and $350 except for one that ended at $153.
I checked the description and sure enough:

“I ONLY ship to USA. (Don’t even ask!)”

May this be a lesson to baosgarden and to every other seller that comes out with this “only US” generation of nonsense.

Chain Of Strength – No Sleeve (part deux)

euclidrecords has another listing for “10 or more available” COS TTD 2nd press records with no sleeve. This means that you have several options…

a) buy this clean copy at a decent price with no concern of a sleeve missing
b) create your own sleeve
c) perhaps you want to upgrade your existing 2nd press record

For anyone who missed the original auction here are the details the seller reveals:

ADDITIONAL NOTES: 1988. Matrix numbers on side X: R-12333 1 MASTERED BY TRUTONE 1288 REV 10A HEY CAN WE PLAY MORE THAN 2 SONGS? side XX: R-12334 MASTERED BY TRUTONE 1288 REV-10-B NO IS YOUR ANSWER. These were purchased from a former NYC distributor and had been in storage for nearly 15 years.

I happened to miss grabbing a copy the first time around. I am now looked after. I will attempt to make my own sleeve as well. If anyone does the same please let us know via twitter or email me with how yours looks. You can email me at mikethemosher@gmail.com

TEST OF STRENGTH – What Holds Us Apart

Californian seller chubasco909 is telling us that he has acquired this test press of the COS – WHUA 7″ on Foundation Records, directly from Ryan Hoffman in 1990. That’s pretty good lineage. Not only that, but he is saying that this record will not be leaving the United States of America. No doubt that this will please some US bidders, and disappoint many good honest buyers abroad. For the record though, I am the first bidder on this thing, so unless you don’t mind this record being sold to someone in Canada for the price of a grande latte at Starbucks (something I wouldn’t drink, mind you) then I suggest you come very hard to the table on this one. I don’t think I have ever seen a Chain of Strength test press ever available for sale before so don’t go thinking that there’s always next time.

CHAIN OF STRENGTH – Create Your Own Sleeve!

euclidrecords is currently holding “more than 10 available” COS TTD records, that are 2nd press I believe. I am quite enjoying this auction with the current “Silver Sleeve” edition that is up, and the NFAA “Alex Closet” press that if I’m not mistaken, was debunked…and i dont mean bunk beds…or maybe I do.

Check this auction of CHAIN records that are currently up for sale in a relatively large quantity by a seller that claims to specialize in only the “finest selection of rare Jazz recordings in the world.”

Here are some relevant details regarding the auction that the seller has entered:

ADDITIONAL NOTES: 1988. Matrix numbers on side X: R-12333 1 MASTERED BY TRUTONE 1288 REV 10A HEY CAN WE PLAY MORE THAN 2 SONGS? side XX: R-12334 MASTERED BY TRUTONE 1288 REV-10-B NO IS YOUR ANSWER. These were purchased from a former NYC distributor and had been in storage for nearly 15 years.

I’m quite tempted to buy every last one of them, but I won’t. Or maybe I will.

Chain Of Strength Chain Crew 7″

Seller revelation-9 is auctioning off a Chain Crew for one of his friends. The item description tells the tale of this one. If you are looking for a real Chain Crew, it couldn’t come from a better source than this.

“Chain Of Strength – “Chain Crew” 7″, #24 out of 100 – This was the original mix that the band didn’t like so was never released. 100 went to each band member; Chris Bratton sold his 100 to Tim McMahon (Mouthpiece), then sleeves were made and then sold at the first Dayton hardcore festival as the “Chain Crew” press. Note that the “Chain Crew” press refers to only the 100 who had the sleeves made up for them (the cover is the same photo used on the Circle Storm 7″). The other 400 have creeped up in circulation here and there and are part of the bad pressing but are not technically the “Chain Crew”.”

Chain ‘No Sleeve’ edition #1/1

euclidrecords is offering all Revelation collectors a very rare opportunity to pick up a Chain of Strength 7″ which could be a one of a kind. This one HAS NO SLEEVE! The description makes no attempt to explain where this record came from nor why it lacks a sleeve. Given the recent bullshit NFAA 7″ found in someone’s closet, you’d think the seller could at least have made up some cool story that they were at a show and Ray Cappo took this record out of it’s sleeve and threw it at their head, or Curt from Chain used it to scrape the mud from his shoe, or something. Then they could have xerox’d up a sleeve and numbered it 1/1 and sold it to some fool for $500. Don’t people have any imagination these days? Come to think of it, maybe YOU could buy this for cheap and make that sleeve yourself. Did you think of that? But if you do, at least send me something as a thanks for such a great idea.

By the way, did you know there’s a new message board just for people who collect Revelation Records? If you want to see some pictures of some stuff you probably never knew existed, get on over to http://revcollectors.proboards.com & sign up for some nerd chat.

You forgot one Tre, Chain TTD on clear

straightray is breaking out the big guns. If those two Chain 7″s Tre posted are out of your price range then just move along now. Almost $300 and 4 days to go. It does seem like theres way less then 300 of these. Another Rev discography inaccuracy? Glad I picked mine up for alot less. Remember when the silver sleeve went for this much?

Hardcore collecting starter piece: Chain Of Strength

Got another one here from my dude bouvetislandchamberofcommerce AKA Sammy Winston. Another good starter piece for you budding collectors. Shouldn’t break the bank, and hey, you’ll be getting some checks from Grandma at Christmas anyway. I think you should go for it. It’s only at $20 with about a day left. Check your collection. Do you have the Chain Of Strength 7″ on Rev? If the answer is no, or even, “I’ll have to check” then stop the bullshit and pick this up.

“But Tre, that’s only on black vinyl! I want it on clear, or green cause color vinyl is cooler!!” Waaahhh… Fine fine fine. 60169designs has a green copy up right now for a $150 BIN, make an offer if you are feeling saucy. And if he rejects your lowball offer, swing a bid over to the black copy up there.
