Gorilla Biscuits – At The Matinee

Seller prepareforbattle has a really nice copy of the Gorilla Biscuits “At The Matinee” 7″ up right now.

The record coincided with, and was sold on, the Gorilla Biscuits 2006 reunion tour. 1000 were pressed, all on grey vinyl. It was originally supposed to be released on Revelation Records, but something happened as the band ended up doing it themselves. It must have been last minute as the vinyl matrix has REV141 etched in.

1000 pressed seems like a lot, but these things just keep getting more and more expensive. With a couple days left, this one is holding steady at a reasonable price. We will see how long that lasts.

If you are Brazilian or Italian, sorry guys you might as well move on. prepareforbattle has no love for your postal systems and would rather sell to the rest of the planet. Better luck next time.

Gorilla Biscuits 7″ on green marble.

Whats the coolest looking piece of colored vinyl you own? It doesnt look as cool as this. This GB 7″ on green marble from aapjekoala is one of the cooler looking ones I’ve seen too. It looks like a piece of polished marble taken from the floor of a Roman villa. Another Revelation mystery pressing that nobody knows the amount pressed, but given its rarity I would guess its somewhere in the 300 range. The starting bid is pretty high but if you feel like being a baller then this is for you.

rock4light has a few good picks up right now. Starting with the game changer that is the GB lp on purple. Ive never actually owned one of these and i can remember thinking $75 was too much for one 13 years ago. Guess I should have jumped at the chance back then.

Theres also a mis-titled copy of the 7″. Does this mean you will get it for cheap? Probably not, but it sure doesnt help his auction that the main photo is the BACK cover and its actually a 1st press not a 2nd press.

And finally an addendum to the post i made last week about the Vision LP, heres the very hard to find purple version. He calls it the tour press, which ive never heard before but it could very well be.

I Can’t Wait

I love going to the garden and hearing Can’t Wait One Minute More come blasting over the loud speakers. 99.9999% of the crowd has no idea who the band is, but everyone seems to know the song. People get amped, that drum beat is powerful. Of course, it’s a song by CIV that you can play at home with this LP single. I was stoked to track down a copy for myself a few years back. The extended instrumental b-side is epic.

Worst seller name ever? gemalinafigueroataylor5. Descriptive is normally good, but this one feels like 6 thrown together words with a random number. Weird.

Can’t Wait One Minute More

I’ve always been a big fan of GB and Civ so I was pleasantly surprised when I came across this LP single a few years back. I had never heard of it but was STOKED to stumble over it. When CIV was going big with their first LP, a single was created for Can’t Wait One Minute More. This album contains the record version, the extended version AND an instrumental version. These tracks could then be heard at ball parks, stadiums and Nissan commercials world wide. Such a great way to spend a Celtics time out, you know? Anyway, this one from bookwormnj is still super cheap. Pick it up. Don’t wait one minute … nah, too easy.

Out of all the radical and shitty records I have acquired over the years this one takes the cake for me on best design/ colour way (I just used the douchey euro spelling there). I’m not talking about the rather bland cover (yes I don’t dig it from a design standpoint); I’m just talking about the vinyl and the label. That green marbled beauty really pops with the yellow GB label. It’s even more “gorilla-ish” than the yellow on yellow 2nd press for some reason.

Buy it, it looks good next to a clear Warzone or a silver sleeve Chain.

There is a lot of debate over how many of these were pressed. It’s 300, just saying.

Yikes! Don’t let this pass you by. These are HARD to COME by and the dudes that have them seem to HANG on to them forever making them that much HARDER to get. Ask cliche’ Jon. Don’t think I have ever seen number 50 of 102. Looks like another has surfaced for the internet generation to covet.

CIV – Thirteen Day Getaway LP… low price, 1 day left and no bids. Personally I think this record sucks, but its gotta be worth that minimum bid to someone!?!?
