We Need More Side By Side Covers

Over the years, I’ve seen a lot of covers. A shit ton of Youth Of Today covers, some WarZone covers, a few Straight Ahead covers … but I don’t think I’ve EVER seen a Side By Side cover. Does Alert do one? They need to. Someone needs to. Now, I don’t recall this EP actually [...]

East Meets West

Hardcore 1990! Check out this under appreciated gem from unholybloodlust. The East Meets West comp on Nemesis Records. Nemesis Records #4. Just a great little comp. I don’t think any of the tracks are comp exclusives (Wall Of Hate, Just Can’t Hate Enough, Injustice System … all on LPs by the bands), but bringing together [...]

Scratch the Surface

In the final hours of delapasion‘s auctions a ton of gems are finishing. I always used to want this record. I may actually have it but I dont have my records in front of me to check. I remember seeing SOIA at the Tune Inn around when this record dropped and I remember that show [...]

Rev Collection – Better than a G on clear

This round of delapasion‘s auctions are coming to and end every shortly. Record prices are so funny these days. A Carry On lp on black is (at the time of writing this) going for more money than this record. This record dropped right before record collecting really took offf in popularity. I remember a bunch [...]

Background Music

Oh man, this record is sooo good. Background Music. Released in 2001 on Equal Vision records. The first pressing came on 4 different colors: clear, maroon, maroon cross and black. The cross one was a friends only type of press. Bummed I never tracked one down. Still sitting on my clear and maroon copies though. [...]

Mates Of State

I was introduced to Mates Of State a few years back. I’m pretty sure it was by Pandora. I had been surfing for Matt & Kim like artists when I wound up on Mates Of State. Now this band is NOT hardcore whatsoever so don’t get it confused. However, they are a shining example of [...]

Record Store Day

6 hours into Record Store Day, and this Sick Of It All EP already hit ebay. Wow. Could be 5 hours since this dude is in Illinois, Central Time. I actually had a chance to pick up two of these. One for my friend, one for … well, just stay tuned to @vinylnoize.

ALERT!

If you haven’t heard Alert yet, you must be living in a yurt in the middle of Big Sur. I can’t think of any other reason you would have missed out on this crew. Seriously. This band is all about fun. They bring it back like the late 80s. No one takes themselves to seriously, [...]

That’s What Friends Are For

The first American Nightmare EP has a lot of presses. Back To School Jam press, Blue tour press, black vinyl, blue vinyl, a couple other colors. The list is pretty long. Excluding test presses, this is the most rare. And the thing is, it was only given out to friends of the band. Very few [...]

Death By Stereo

Did you know that Death By Stereo is STILL a band? True story. They just wrapped up a tour with Agnostic Front and are soon hitting up Europe. I didn’t know. I mean, they were pretty awesome back in 2000 at Hellfest. Kids were going bonkers. If you were at this hellfest, you remember the [...]

Merry Christmas, H20

It’s not Christmas, but this is a Christmas story. Every year, my wife asks me what I want for Christmas. Every year, I say the same 4 items. 1. Crucial Records 2. Crucial gear 3. Nike air maxes 4. Sweatpants & Polo gear Over the years, the order has changed a bit. The list above [...]

Bane Give Blood LP Red/Clear

I came across this Bane lp the other day, and got excited. I’ve been looking for a perfect 50/50 split and at first blush, this appeared to be the case. Here’s the deal with this vinyl. I’ll give you lots of context. When It All Comes Down To This was initially released, the band wanted [...]

Get Down 2nd EP

Get Down was this ill little band from Massachusetts and New Jersey. Fronted by Dave Murphy (deli man) with a stage lined by an all start ex-band roster. AP of In My Eyes and Ten Yard Fight, Jeff Neumann of Battery, Better Than A Thousand, In My Eyes…, Azy of Panic and Mullet of XmulletX [...]

POISON IDEA Pick Your King 7″ clear wax

Yes, I post about this band a lot. This is my #1 favorite HC record ever (see #2 below.) Thirteen tracks of unbridled hate and self destruction squeezed into one squeeky clear 7″ platter. The band always said they were unhappy with the production on this one, but I couldn’t disagree moreβ€”sure the guitar is [...]

The Promise Ring EPs

When I think about 1997, I think about The Promise Ring. No, I never saw them live. No, I probably never drove long nights listening to them. BUT. I think I spent hours in my room listening to these albums. It was a very time and place band for me. Nothing Feels Good got constant [...]

Give Up The Ghost Down Til We’re Underground LP

(Apparently, it’s American Nightmare day around here …) I have a confession to make. I don’t think I have ever listened to this LP. I’ve never owned it on LP, CD or even MP3. Something was different after the name change. It was more than just a name change, it was different. I don’t know [...]

Breakdown – Blacklisted

Who doesnt want a record with a song about street fighting and big macs? Seller states that there was 100 pressed on clear? That cant possibly be true. I feel like every single copy I have seen of this has been on clear. Does anyone know if the pressing info is true? 100 on clear?
