What Counts

gdoggondaroof has an auction about to end for a Have Heart “What Counts” 1st Press 7″ on yellow/gold.

Everything looks to be in very good condition, and the photo is taken on a luxurious looking back drop.

Light In The Darkness

I always thought that mixing black into the color of the vinyl made for cool looking records. For a while pressing plants wouldn’t do it because they claimed the records would just come out totally black. Records like this one being sold by recordgraveyard prove that isn’t the case.

Limited to 200.

SUPERBOWL SUNDAY: Thou Shalt Not Kill (again?)

As is known to happen, I was about to post to an auction that someone else posted. So if you are interested in the original Antidote 7″, Check out Doug’s good post here.

But one of the things that I was going to touch on is that there are so many versions of this record. If you aren’t a committed collector, or maybe just aren’t THAT big of an antidote fan. Maybe you would prefer a repress of the original 7″, or there are even 12″ versions of the 7″.

Just for fun, I tried to find Mental covering Back to Back since it was at least on this record, but instead I found this gem, which isn’t on this record, but yeah. Featuring Scace bass lines and straightedge Greg.

SUPERBOWL SUNDAY: Thicker than water

The first time I saw H2O they were opening for CIV at the Tune Inn in the mid90s. sunra2000818 is selling a pink vinyl LP that came out in 1997. I remember this being a big deal because H2O was the first east coast band on Epitaph.

SUPERBOWL SUNDAY: Remember Stab and Kill Records?

So in putting together the posts for all of these Superbowl Sunday posts, I stumbled across this auction from batfuk. It brought back some memories. I first saw Subzero in high school in the early 90s at 7 Willow St. in Westchester, NY. I would have never thought that I would put out one of their records a long time later.

Subzero and Lu are total class acts. Great people to work with, and I always felt they were under rated. This auction is on the expensive side, but if you are interested, it was limited to 300 on this color.

Early 90s, you know.. baggy pants, striped XXXL T-shirts and all..

Who doesn’t love the 90s? I know ChipxSem does. What jerktopia has for us here are the 2 nice releases by the band that was in the this transition period where everyone went from the 80s generic youth crew to the 90s REV/NEW AGE/VICTORY sound. If I’m not mistaken the singer and drummer from Forced Down were at one point, amongst few other well known bands of the time like Amenity and Pitchfork, in Inside Out. This alone should be enough for you to want this.
What I love about these two releases though (except for cool music) is the attention to detail that was put into the packaging. Not only cool covers with nice choice of colour vinyl but lots of little things that make your day brighter, big inserts, medium inserts, smaller inserts, multicolour stamps… you know what I’m talking about. Record releasing perfection.

Music, Martinis, and whatever else you can think of

I can’t believe it but it’s true. This auction from f_dias_neon is for the 21st anniversary BOYD RICE and FRIENDS “Music Martinis and Misanthropy LP. Of course they limited them to only 666, and included a bunch of fancy inserts to go with it.

When you think of Damage, think of Philly

Are you ever jealous of people that have lots of cool things? Look closely at the background of this Damage 7″ on yellow vinyl. It looks like deathwishinc has taken the photo on top of some cool asian surface. They used this same background for a bunch of their other auctions as well. When I take pictures for my auctions, they are usually on dirty carpet. Some people just have all the cool shit.

Anyways, I don’t think Dead by 23 gets enough credit these days. They put out some cool looking records of great bands during their time. There are a bunch of other DB23 records on ebay right now. Don’t sleep.

Who would win in a fight, Hatebreed or Integrity?

Here is an oldie but a goodie from recordgraveyard. This green vinyl from Stillborn records is a real trip down memory lane. I’ve seen both of these bands a bunch of times, but its been years and years for both of them. Yet I still remember when this record came out.

Orchid of the valley

earwax666hotmail is one of eBay’s top record sellers. They also sell a fair amount of T-shirts as well. Hundreds of auctions every week. Why did I choose this one? I don’t really know, but I liked the cover art. I won’t lie, I have never listened to Orchid. But I know a lot of people were into them.

Skank it the fuck up

punk226 has something you don’t see everyday. This is a double record auction including both a picture disc LP, and a split colored vinyl 10″. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones may have long since faded away (although they recently put out another new record), there are probably many guys out there in their 30s or 40s that remember some sick shows. My first show ever was a Bosstones show at Toad’s Place in New Haven. The opening bands were Blind Justice and Black Train Jack. Sick pit that night.
