Everyone knows I love European HC, and if you didn’t know that – I do. So, here’s a nice auction for the first ManLiftingBanner 7″ – “The Myth Of Freedom”. ManLiftingBanner were a Communist Straight Edge band from the Netherlands in the early 1990′s, and featured members from the very first European Straight Edge band – LARM. They also played great fast hardcore with political lyrics, but with enough variety and talent to keep it from sounding tuneless and boring. They kind of remind me of Brotherhood, although they also say they were hugely influenced by the first Warzone 7″ as well. Members later went on Mainstrike, Seein’ Red, and Dead Stool Pigeon.

I can’t really decide if I like this 7″ or their 10″ better, but I am glad they are finally both getting re-released as a discogrphay 2xLP set (although the time frame on this is still not determined).

But here you can own the original! A piece of European straight edge history!

Seller xdiscontentx did time in a good European band as well (Abusive Action), and is a solid seller whom I’ve had dealings with on previous occasions both on and outside of EBay.
