More from mazzo29 today, in this case a record that was oh so very disappointing…
Limited to 226 on yellow. Your mileage may vary, but my personal opinion is that there are 2 good songs on this, at best, and IIRC both of them predated the Rev signing. Maybe I’m being harsh, but when their youth pride wore off and they dove in to the Farside of the pool completely, it just wasn’t the same. Pat had a unique voice for hardcore, but for slick pop/rock core… not so much. Should have seen it coming, as they had gone from playing all ages shows at churches to 21+ gigs at Mama Kin. Still, lots of good memories of Fastbreak shows before that, including a great Halloween show where they dressed up as Guns N Roses. Still, my negative memories aside, I know that a lot of people these days consider this record an under-appreciated gem, and the style they were trying for is pretty popular right now. Maybe I’m just biased.
