When I first read that Darryl Jenifer was putting out a solo album I was super psyched! I play bass, I love the Bad Brains and there is no arguing that Darryl is a monster bass player… probably the best in punk/hardcore in my opinion at least.

So during one of my weekly treks to Armageddon Shop I asked about the Darryl solo record and they had no idea it was even coming out. Wait… how is that possible? How can there not be months of promotion and fanfare over a Darryl Jenifer solo album!? Well… it only took a week for Armageddon to get one in stock so I rushed in next week and bought it. Now, I will admit that when I finally listened to it, I wasnt really that impressed or excited about it, but there is still something in me that just cant say that its bad so here is one with a fair BIN from hollisbrown-wax so that you can pick it up and make your own decision!

Ok… Halloween is officially over for another year and to most people we are entering the ‘christmas season’, but for me I’m just looking forward to next week becasue I get Veterans Day off of work!

So now that Halloween is over it’s time to get back to some hardcore… or not really hardcore, but well… I’m listening to it right now and I’m not really sure what to call it. What we have here is a solo album from Darryl Jenifer the bass player from the Bad Brains. I guess this might be a dub record? It has a rap feel to some of it, but there isnt really any ‘rapping’…. Its definitly not a hardcore record, but I didnt really expect it to be so thats okay. In all honesty I like the Bad Brains so much and being a bass player I like Darryl a lot so I would have bought this no matter what it was and I hope you will too!

moondogmusic1 has the LP (which has different cover art than the CD) and it comes with a code for a full digital download which is nice. The price is fair, so is the shipping and this just came out last week so someone jump on this!
