I actually can’t find too much info on this one; it doesn’t even make the Dee Dee discography on Wikipedia and Discogs.com doesn’t go into any great detail about it. It’s a Finnish release from 2001, the song is a Johnny Thunders cover, and a test press is in the Ramones museum in Berlin. That’s pretty much all I’ve got. Still kind of cool tho, especially if you’re a Ramones fan.

This is a 12″ of the song ‘Funky Man’ from the great white hope… the original white rapper… DEE DEE KING, better known as Dee Dee Ramone.

In the mid 80′s after leaving the Ramones Dee Dee decided to become a rapper and this is his debut 12″ on Rock Hotel Records from 1987.

I have the ‘Standing in the Spotlight’ cassette somewhere and I used to listen to it a lot. Its good for a laugh and some of the songs are catchy. Who can forget ‘Poor Little Rich Girl’ & ‘Mashed Potato Time’.

Anyway, Dee Dee King stuff usually sells for a decent price. This one is still really low so maybe someone can scoop it cheap!
