BREAKDOWN – 87 Demo on yellow

Yo why are there no bids on this? We still like Breakdown right? Its kind of a universal thing. record-geek has it on yellow, which is no tiger stripe. Somebody please buy it though, its All I Ask.

Facemask 1999 Demo

I’ve never heard of this band. Facemask? 1999? This seems like something should be up my alley. They even do a Project X cover (granted, it’s the usual cover). Someone, fill me in on this band. I’m guessing the $25 BIN from cybertrunk is a tad high. Brass KnuXXX, whoa.

Deafheaven demo noise, a wee bit too high perhaps

While it’s true that desertmerch has a sure-fire winner on his hands here with this Deafheaven demo tape, I think that $50 opening bid might be a lil too lofty of an expectation. Maybe I am wrong, like they say, it’s worth whatever someone will pay for it!  And if you’re one of those people that reads blogs and whatnot, our boys here are making a slew of those year end, “Top whatever of 2011″  lists despite catching flack for being “hipster black metal” and all that.  Anyway, black-gaze is a cooler sounding genre, if you are one of those people that has to assign a genre to everything.

Step Aside Demo 2011

I kept wracking my brains trying to figure out why I should know who Step Aside. Not that I’m out of the loop, but it’s not often I hear about bands from Arizona. Something was ticking my memory. Maybe it was their location, or that they were a straight edge band. But upon seeing the artwork on the bandcamp page, I remembered where. The artwork is by our friend Michiel Walrave. I must have seen it floating around a while back. The demo is good stuff. I’m feeling it. So was itsxdead, but now he’s selling two versions. Both are numbered out of 50.

Both are still available from the label, Hard Press Records which may or may not be the seller, Marlon’s label. I know he has a label, just can’t remember the name of it. Get into this band. You’ll thank me.

ps. After thinking about it for a few more minutes, it occurred to me that Step Aside was a mid 90s hardcore band. You’d often see their EP in the dollar bin. THAT’S IT!!

Happy National Edge Day!

Got a couple items here we surprisingly slept on all this time, but it’s kind of for the best. Because this pair of Boston Straight Edge recordings from gblairkemp are ending today: National Edge Day. Now, what band’s last show was probably the biggest NED show ever? Have Heart. And what band’s 2nd demo (put out for Edge Day on Edge Day Records) is the B side to the lp below? Stop and Think. Yes, a very appropriate pair of auction endings to start this years NED.

Saves The … WTF?

When Saves The Day hit the scene in the late 90s, they were a hardcore band. That’s right. You heard me. A hardcore band. They released an album on EVR, a hardcore label. They had roots in NJHC. And as such, when they released their original demo, it was on a shitty cassette tape. It was likely recorded on a shitty boombox in a shitty apartment. Or at least, an apartment with at least two too many people in it. Which leads me to this auction from surgeoheatal. WTF? There is no chance this is a legit release. Even the cover looks like a terrible photocopy. Yuck.

If you want the legit version, grab the demo tape from tracemyeyes.

No Warning’s Final Solution Demo Was F*cked Up.

I kind of love that seller adversewind sort of absentmindedly tosses out the fact that this Fucked Up demo he’s selling just happens to also have the infamous No Warning “white power side project” Final Solution demo taped on the B side. *cue Nazi panic* I mean, back in 2001, the existence of those songs was actually a really big deal. People didn’t even know if it really existed, it was the cause of the entire No Warning/CC beef… so to just casually be like “Oh, and somebody taped some weird Nazi songs that sound like Ill Blood on the back of this demo” is kind of under selling the history, if you ask me.

I probably should point out that, despite what people say, FS wasn’t really a side project. It was just a really tasteless and immature joke done while demo’ing songs for Ill Blood. It was almost an inevitable thing, really, given how many people slapped No Warning with the wannabe Biohazard label… understandably though, a great many people were not amused. Shout outs to Chris Corry.

The Truth, Hypocrite & Herb

Straight Up Hardcore.

The Return Of The Old School.

You feeling Bulldoze? This is the demo, dedicated to the memory of Vincent Cea II. You know what I’m not feeling? The opening bid aapjekoala kicked it off with. No one is trying to “clean shit up” with that kind of opening bid.
