seven inches of Descendents

I love the Descendents and I think most people do. Every once in awhile someone will say they don’t like them and I just don’t get it. Whats not to like!? I will admit that when it comes to ALL I like the Chad Price stuff best, but thats not to say I don’t like the older stuff.

As for the Descendents, I like it all from start to finish! Here are four 7″s (1 old and 3 newer). Even though its a newer song ‘When I Get Old’ is one of my personal favorites, but I’m really not sure why the price is so high on that one and the ‘I’m the One’ 7″. Anyone know what the story is on these or if the prices are just inflated?

DYS Overload

There’s been a lot of DYS stuff on here lately and well, here’s more. Check it out, I think descendentsall is Bill Stevenson, and here he is selling what he believes to be an un-played og copy of ‘Brotherhood’ on XClaim! signed by his homie Dave Smalley. This is cooler than the test press The Taang store was selling for sure. There’s a lot more pics at the auction link and a question answered.

An Interesting and Mixed Lot

Here’s s pretty mixed lot from packattack138. It’s a pretty odd one, I think. Given the opening $500 bid and the weird picture, you might be thrown, but digging in, you will find some interesting items.

Misfits collection 2 on clear vinyl (95, ltd to 500 copies)
Misfits 12 hits from hell cd (scrapped project, ltd to 2000)
Black Flag 7inch only sold at licorice pizza (real??)
Descendents Ride The Wild
AFI EP (unlisted in the description, but pictured and listed in the title)

And if you win he’ll throw in

Misfits Static Age Lp on yellow vinyl (from 97, ltd to 1000 copies)

Worth $500? You decide. But lets listen to Ride The Wild by the Descendents while you mull it over. I always forget this first EP exists. 1979. Crazy. The sounds is SOO different from Milo Descendents. Into it.

Eating is Believing

One of my favorite 7″s! If i didnt upgrade my copy to a super clean one already I would be bidding the shit out of this. This record of course marks the first appearance of Milo on vocals. Its also nice to see a copy with a pretty nice looking cover. They were printed on a super thin paper much like that of a 12″ insert type material so seam splits are common and aplenty. again coming to you courtesy of the estate of Mark W

Cool To Be Me.

Fatwreckchords are also in the test press auction game this week, and while we’ll be showing you the rest of their auctions later on, this one deserved it’s own post. Because it’s for a Descendents test press, and the Descendents rule. In fact, without them, there probably wouldn’t be much of a Fat Wreck roster. Plus on a personal note, in September, I’m finally getting to see the Descendents. To say I’m psyched is an understatement. It’s cool to be me right now, yes indeed.

Mitch Dubey Benefit Auctions

We got a message the other day that a bunch of auctions had just been put up to benefit the family of Mitch Dubey. If you haven’t heard, Mitch was randomly killed in his home. It’s shocking and completely impossible to fathom. But the scene is pulling together and pitching in. This is the expected reaction. UNITY. Go ahead and put some money towards these lps (and even a reel to reel) from plaguerat2. Know that your money is going to benefit the family of one of our own.

LOL at the “unplayed” comment. If you have a reel to reel player, you have my respect.

Shout outs to rudie@wpi.edu.

Descendents Promo 45′s.

Cool pair from devotown for all the Descendents collectors out there (koffjaybilkoff): a pair of promotional singles for the albums Enjoy and All, respectively. Definitely way cooler than a cassette single.

Posterage

nostalgia-on-wheels has a few crucial posters up for sale. Both are pretty sizeable. Remember when labels decided it would be a good idea to only make 11″x17″ poster sometime in the late 90s? I cant be the only one who longs for the day of fullsized posters like the early REV ones or these two

I don recall seeing this poster before. If my paypal wasnt so lacking it would be on my watch list instead of on here.

This TSOL poster is also pretty dope

Morgado Goes To Bed.

One last one for today from the zero.street auctions…

Milo might be going to college, but Morgado is going to bed. Nice and early for once, too. And yes, I am aware that this bad joke would have gone much better with a picture of the FRONT of the lp.

Comps From Zero.Street.

Yesterday was when I first started seeing auctions pop up from zero.street, including the ones for the two Pushead related comps shown below. I uploaded those and a couple others from his 2 pages of auctions to do posts on, then went on my merry way. About 6 hours later, while browsing around eBay for more stuff to post, I spotted another comp of interest, this one the Life Is Ugly… comp, which features among others the Descendents and the Minutemen. Wondering how I’d missed it before, I clicked view other auctions, and low and behold the number of auctions had skyrocketed, with the number of pages tripling to 6 in as many hours! So expect lots of goodies this week, as there’s tons of awesome records, all with ten day auctions, which gives us plenty of time to show them off to you.

Fat kids need love too!

I dont know about other Straight Edge kids, but I know that the few sXe friends I have (myself included) all have their own vices and most of them involve food! I remember first seeing Youth of Today and the Gorilla Biscuits and learning what Straight Edge was and thinking… I’m a fat kid with hair 1/2 way down my back and these guys looks like Venice Beach body builders! Seriously… how does a guy one from CT look that tan!?! Anyway… eventually I saw some other bands with Straight Edge members that didnt fit the ‘youth crew’ mold and I decided that was for me.

So even though this record has nothing to do with Straight Edge I dedicate this post to all the Straight Edge fat kids!

Descendents FAT LP

and here is the original Descendents FAT 7″

PSA

While I enjoy barrydalive‘s screen name I adivse against buying his copy or anyone elses copy of Descendents “Everything Sucks” on ebay. Some have sold for like $30+ bucks recently. Descendents rule and all but you can still pick it up direct from Epitaph.

Descendents lp direct from Epitaph here

Youre welcome :)

Lots And Lots of Lots.

Seller lissareeder wants to help you build up your record collection quickly and efficiently, and as such she’s posted pretty much nothing but record lots:

You could build a whole collection off her auctions alone, be it a punk and hardcore collection or, as you will see soon enough, a metal collection…

MIKE JUDGE & MILO AUKERMAN

delapasion has a couple of cool records on some nice colored vinyl and these two are both ending very soon so check them out ASAP!

The Descendents have an amazing catalog of music and I know that a lot of people kind of write off the last few records as being crap compared to the old stuff, but I really love the songs on ‘Everything Sucks’. Especially songs like the title track and ‘This Place’ because they are songs I can totally relate to in every way!! This is a white vinyl copy limited to 500 from Epitaph Records in 1997.

And here we have the Storm 7″ from Judge on awesome clear gold vinyl limited to only 1000 copies. This is the version with the lyrics over the live photo vs just having the Judge logo, but I’m not sure how many of each insert exist.
