Oh Tre, how you make me laugh…
DOWN BUT NOT OUT demo tape!
Morgado is friends with these guys.
Plus I even got a name drop in the title. Which is going to create some shocks for people hunting down those hard to find Cesar Morgado lp’s…
Now, much as I appreciate it, DFJ would have been the far more prudent shout out; he was actually IN the band after all. I just lugged gear and “tried to punch everybody in the room while they played”, to paraphrase a Jim C description of a DBNO set. And it probably couldn’t hurt to mention that both The Rival Mob and The Wrong Side covered DBNO songs on their debut full lengths. And also that this is considered by most of the people who have heard it to be the best demo of the late 90s/early 00s, and one of the best demo only bands ever. Also one of the most intimidating and intense live shows of the time. But as Tre would happily point out to you, I’m a prejudiced opinion. After all, I’m friends with these guys.
