Infest ‘Slave’ in handmade sleeve

Unlike a lot of people who read this site, I’m not a huge Infest collector. I have ‘Slave’ on green and I have ‘No Man’s Slave’ on blue and that’s where my Infest collection ends. I’d love to own umpteen copies of ‘Slave’ as it really is a great record and the amount of variations make it very collectible, not to mention that the vinyl colors they used are all cool as hell. Anyway, I’m only telling you that my knowledge of Infest records is poor as a lead in to telling you that I didn’t know that this version that so.calhero1 is selling even existed. Ok, so I’m an Infest amateur, but still, I’ve seen a lot of pictures of Infest collections and yet somehow I have never seen this version before. And yes, now I want it bad because it looks cool as fuck.

Rather than try to describe what this is, I’ll let the seller fill you in. He should know what he’s talking about given that he was in the band…

INFEST “slave” 12″ 45 rpm numbered #55/100 on grey marble. This is a DrawBlank only press with a 12″x24″ fold/sticker cover. There are very few of these out there. These were pressed by DrawBlank to finance a larger 2nd press that never happened. A later press was released by DeepSix a few years later with different labels, lyric sheet and a standard cover. This record has been in storage purgatory for two decades and has never been played. Pretty much aged to perfection and I can only assume the vinyl is in great condition but should probably be cleaned before playing. Serious humans only…no returns.

Having just scanned popsike, it seems the seller also sold #56 last month and we failed to pick up on it. It went for $233. He also sold #59 in January for $191. I wonder if the Vinyl Noize exposure will up the price this time around? I also wonder how many more copies this dude may have stashed away.

INFEST 7″ Machismo

Seller so.calhero1 has got a slab of wax known as the Machismo 7″. This is the first release from the infamous California hardcore/powerviolence/whatever band. All of these same songs can be found on the Slave LP but you might as well get the first output of this band. This release is not as rare as some of the small runs of colored vinyl in the first press, but you gotta start somewhere if you want to collect something.

An easy 1-2 punch to start an Infest collection…

1. Black vinyl press of their debut 7″ aka Machismo, 1000 pressed on the band’s own Draw Blank label. This is basically a truncated version of their Slave LP which was released in the States before the LP version came out in Europe. I’ve never seen one like this with the pack of butts copied on the inside, usually it’s a live photo. Anyone have better info on that?

2. Blue vinyl press of their 2nd 7″ aka Mankind, also on Draw Blank. If I recall correctly, there were 600 of these made, after the initial black vinyl pressings. This may be one of, if not THE, best hardcore 7″ of the 90s, so cop this while it’s cheap or regret it later.
