I made my frist ‘punk’ friend when I was in 9th grade. I was still strictly a metal head, but I was more open to new music than my other metal friends. I met Mike while hanging out at the record store my mom & dad co-owned in Woonsocket, RI when he came in and bought a Screaming Broccoli LP. Over the next few years Mike introduced me to the likes of Black Flag, Sex Pistols, Ramones, Carnivore, Motorhead, The Exploited, Uriah Heap and many others, but one that I remember being the most in awe of was The Mentors.

I wasnt in awe becasue they were so good, it was just the music and the lyrics and the album covers and the 1/2 naked fat guys wearing executioner hoods…. it was the full package!

I had some Mentors cassettes from back then, but they are long gone and sadly I never got any on LP. If you’re interested in starting a Mentors collection or filling some holes in one then these are the auctions for you!
