Last winter, I saw my neighbor out shoveling the end of her driveway, you know, the really heavy stuff. Her husband was at work so I ambled over to lend a hand.

She was rocking out something fierce and didn’t see me. Being approached by an abominable snowman with a shovel can be scary, and I didn’t want to spook her. Finally I waved her down and got her attention. This is the conversation that occurred.

Her – “Oh yeah, I didn’t see you there.”

Me – “Yeah, you were rocking out. I just wanted to lend a hand.”

Her – “Oh thank you! I was listening to that new Dane Cook stand up.”

Me – “…”

Her – “He’s so funny. Don’t you think he’s so funny? He’s just the funniest.”

Me – “He … he .. He sure is … something!”

That’s what this guy is doing in his auction, whether he realizes it or not. He’s claiming The Wrong Side (Dumptruck) is “easily one of the top three Lockin’ Out bands.”

Now, when you think of “Lockin Out Bands,” who do you immediately think of? Mental and Stop And Think. That’s TWO right there. Did you think of Righteous Jams? Or Look Alive or Terror or RZL DZL? Yes, possibly. Then again, you’re probably also forgetting Rampage, Living Hell, New Lows, Lion Of Judah and Justice … and then you’re not even considering the new crop of AMAZING LOC bands – Rival Mob, Free Spirit, … You see what I’m saying?

So either this guy is putting the pussy on a pedestal or he’s got no long term memory. I mean, I personally love The Wrong Side and that whole crew, but to say they are in the top 3 is a leap of faith. Every band on the LOC is so good that comparisons of that nature start to become ridiculous.
