Where were you when the Y2K bug brought down the world?

In December of 1999 I was working at Boston.com and everyone was worried that when New Year’s Eve came around, the Y2K bug would take down all of our computers and the web site would crash. None of that happened, but Converge did put out this 7″. Clear vinyl, limited to 1000, and now over 12 years old.

What’s interesting is that there were basically no Y2K bugs, but this year on New Year’s Eve one hotels magnet cards all broke and left all of the guests locked out of their rooms.

It’s possible vacationla was also effected by the Y2K bug.

Petitioning Jane Doe….Limited Edition Converge LP’S

The the_underdog is unloading a couple rare releases from Deathwish. These Converge records were originally released by EVR, but have long been out of print. Deathwish reissued these a few years back and they sold like hot cakes. These particular ones are rare and hard to find. I wonder how the seller got them?

Bane — Give Blood — 50/50

sixfeetunderrecords has probably one of the best examples of the Bane Give Blood 50/50 red/clear split. They were aiming for a swirled red/clear vinyl (to make up for the mistake of this color), but 25-50 of the first ones came out split down the middle. The first ones were pretty perfect splits where the latter ones got more hazy on one side or the other. I would guess this would be one of the first ones through since just one side has a barely perceptible color merge near the label. If I didn’t already have this one, you know we’d be fighting over this.

Plus, this is WAY cooler and CHEAPER than the outlandishly priced Free To Think EP on ebay now. Where do people come up with these BIN prices?

Built To Last

A lot of people will try and tell you that Built To Last sucked. They are wrong. Built To Last is a great album. Sure, it’s not Blood, Sweat and No Tears, but not many albums are. I’ve always loved this one. Back in the day, the album was released on a big label. Relativity, but thankfully, EVR was farmed out to release the LP. It’d be a bummer if this one only came on CD or cassette. This one was limited to 300 and looks friggin sharp. Shout outs to our boy xcolinbayerx. He’s got up some gems so make sure to snatch them up.

Bloodlust Revenge

Fun fact: I skipped my high school prom in order to see One King Down. Yeap, bad ass style. The gig was good, and I probably had more fun than I would have at a prom. I pretty much hate “dancing,” and I’m not particularly fond of watching people dance. Not my thing. I even get a little antsy when some push pit teen gets in the mix at the local hardcore gig. At least look at what the other kids are doing before you become joe cool and push pit your way to local middle school stardom. Oooofff, hate that. Always brings me down. Kids these days … right? EVR 31. Crazy. Snag this one from 801williamm it doesn’t pop up often, and is probably the best release from this band. Much better than when Rob started singing for fortydaysrain: the beginning of the end.

Maroon Vinyl reminds me of highschool

yeahwhatup may have some better/more rare stuff for sale, but I love this record and I’m a sucker for maroon vinyl. I grew up in Woonsocket and the highshcool colors were maroon & white. Completely unrelated to this record thats why the first Temperance single on ‘Trinity Records’ came on Maroon vinyl. I went to highschool with Adam Roy (the bass player) and John Guilbert (who put out the record). Oh how I miss those ‘salad days’. : )

Anyway, I think this is out of 2700 on maroon vinyl, but its still worth the opening bid!

Scratch the Surface

In the final hours of delapasion‘s auctions a ton of gems are finishing. I always used to want this record. I may actually have it but I dont have my records in front of me to check. I remember seeing SOIA at the Tune Inn around when this record dropped and I remember that show being nuts. So packed. I went with Ed Heley. This is a solid LP and I would be proud to get it on color. If im not mistaken the vinyl bonus track for this record is a Straight Ahead cover. I dont know how many are pressed on clear.

Does EVR have vinyl pressing info anywhere or is it all word of mouth?

Background Music On “Blood”.

Seller pogmothoin! brings you this razor slice of AN vinyl from “a good time for hardcore music”. Talk about your understatements. Yeah yeah, so it wasn’t 1988 bla bla… whatever you’re probably old and en route to adult diapers.

Keep It Clear.

I’ll probably regret this, since I could use a copy of Twin Killing on clear, but oh well. Two great slices of FP vinyl up for grabs courtesy of seller cristinad: the Twin Killing lp on clear, as mentioned, and the first press of the Division One Champs 7 inch on In My Blood Records. Boy was that one on some thin vinyl… I remember putting it on at the library so I could dub it to tape when I got it (I didn’t have a record player that I could record from in 1996, shut it) and it was skips galore.

Built To Last & Still Running!

Lots of color vinyl coming out of Danbury, CT!

Sick of it All are one of (if not thee) most consistent bands in Hardcore! I love Slapshot, but I can admit they’ve put out a few shitty records (but Breakaway off of Blast Furnace is a great song!). I think that SOIA have been no nonsense straight up hardcore since 1986 and they are showing no signs of stopping. Craig is the hardest working man in Hardcore playing with pretty much anyone that needs a bass player & Lou and his wife just had a baby girl but ‘Based on a True Story’ the newest album is still amazing!

Heres a classic slab of BLUE vinyl from Equal Vision Records in 1997. This is limited to only 300 copies and I know there are more than 300 SOIA collectors out there so dont sleep on this record!!

Shelter – Quest for Certainty

OG press on EVR. I actually love this record. Im glad I wasnt around during the transformation from Youth of Today to Shelter. I bet I would have been super bummout and hated this fucking thing. Instead I can embrace it and most of the early Shelter catalgue. I still need to pick this up on vinyl. Solid addition to any collection
