Minor Threat – In My Eyes

When people rattle off their favorite bands, you usually get a very regional response. New York crew dudes will typically come back with “Cro-Mags, Agnostic front, …” Californian kids will fire back “Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, …” But ask any straight edge kid, regardless of region, and you are likely to get Minor Threat (and probably Youth Of Today). For obvious reasons. I think most younger straight edge kids will give you this answer every time. Some people “grow out” of this answer, which always perplexed me. The Filler & In My Eyes EPs are quite possibly some of the sickest songs ever put to wax. Call me juvenile, call me what you will, but I love these EPs. You know who else loved these EPs? Kyle. That’s who. Go ahead and check out his Minor Threat write up. Then wipe the drool off your keyboard. Great stories, great pics.

Grab this one 3rd press copy of In My Eyes from koolray_223. His story of picking it up is cool. I wouldn’t turn 4 until three weeks after this gig. Crazy.

Through Being Cool

When was the last time you checked in on Kyle’s blog, Seeking The Simple? If you haven’t lately, you are fucking it up. He just upped an intense set of Saves The Day records (plus a few others, keep watching through out the day). He’s been unloading his vinyl for months now, getting out of the game, if you will. To tie it in with the post title, there is a sort of “cool” factor associated with owning some records. Is it really or perceived? I would say perceived everyday. Perhaps Kyle has got there too. Make sure you check out his Saves The Day post as he gets into stories. Feelin it.
