I’m not proud to say that back in the early 90′s I was known to enjoy some funk mixed with my hardcore, punk, rock or metal. I enjoyed the Chili Peppers, Infectious Grooves, Suicidal Tendencies, Body Count, HardCorps, Fishbone, Firehose and I LOVED Primus! Les Claypool and the boys lost me sometime around The Brown Album and I havent really gone back to check out the later stuff, but as a bass player I am still amazed and awed by how awesome Les is. If I had tons of cash and could collect guitars I would totally buy one of the crazy looking striped Carl Thompson bass’ like he played.

Well even though its been many years since I practiced my slaps & pops seeing sinbar’s auction for an original 1990 Prawn Song press of ‘Suck On This’ has rekindled my funk metal ashes and I just might bust out some of those old CDs again!
