Kind of a weird little 2-fer here courtesy of brodies… I’m not quite sure why he wouldn’t just sell them separately given the nature of the rest of his auctions (not to mention these records have absolutely nothing in common other than they are both hardcore bands), but maybe someone can sneak in the back door and get a deal on these. Lots are good for that kind of thing.

This looks familiar
I forget what i was even searching for on ebay when i saw this from spinstop. Lets hear it for stock photo usage. I wonder if the cover of Kill For Christ is from a Gospel record also?
2/3 of the XCLAIM Records catalog
Heres a chance to grab 4 of the 6 Xclaim releases all at once (im not counting that Cops And Robbers 7″). Seller punkfreak32 is missing the two best releases of course but you can worry about the big guns later.
Another X-Claim Collection.
Is it just me, or do we keep seeing sellers (such as roundagain here) throwing up complete/near complete X-Claim! collections lately? I feel like this is at least the third time (yes, I am too lazy to look right now)… not that I’m complaining mind you.
Now THAT’S A Demo Cover.
Casali sent me this auction from hardcore-dinosaur yesterday afternoon, and 24 hours later all I can still say is, INCREDIBLE.
Wow. Not only does this have an incredible cover, but it’s an FU’s demo/unreleased live recording, made for Dave Scott of Adrenalin OD by FU’s drummer Bob Furapples. I’m seriously speechless. Totally awesome. Also awesome from this seller: this original Fear pin, which is my favorite of the many vintage pins he has up right now:
Build Your Own X-Claim! Collection.
Seller vinylhighwaybrings us an almost complete collection of X-Claim! records for you to try and kick start your own collection with…
DYS is my favorite out of these (SSD’s The Kids Will Have Their Say would be on cover art alone, but that ones not to be found here), but any one of these is worth what you’re probably gonna pay. But I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know…
Good Morning Vinyl Noize!
Whole bunch of stuff being delivered to you in bulk today courtesy of the auctions of str8t8. Lots of good stuff, so let’s just jump right in, shall we?
Good stuff, all of this. Any one of these is a grand addition to a record collection.
Unsafe At Any Speed
Cool little batch of 7″s up from mrhate_nomad (aka pro skater Bill Danforth).
The little brother to This Is Boston Not LA, these are tracks that didn’t make the LP for whatever reasons… but even as extras/outtakes/whatever you want to call them, these tracks are better than most bands’ A-game material. My favorite thing about this record aside from the tunes, is the random picture of Mike “Mr. B” Bastarache on the b-side label. This guy is still going to shows, I always laugh when I see him roll up to some grimy Allston basement with his IM Pei glasses and wool overcoat, and punk kids just scratching their heads like “what the hell is this guy doing here?”. My friend once thought he was a “narc” and refused to give him a demo tape of his band until I told him that this out-of-place looking older gent produced all the X-Claim LPs and Boston Not LA. He was pretty embarrassed after that.
More Jeff Nelson…
Another batch of treats from Jeff Nelson, this time of the paper goods variety. I know I’ve said it before, but it’s amazing the amount of stuff this guy hung on to, and how detailed his notes are about everything he sells. Also, everything is typically in perfect shape — I’ve bought copies of both of these flyers from him and they were in absolutely flawless condition.
This show is pretty legendary, I know there are bootlegs of both the Minor Threat and SSD sets kicking around on vinyl (the SSD one looks like a 7″ sized Kids Will Have Their Say and has great stage banter) and I’m pretty sure the insert pics from Out of Step were taken at this show.
OK, I gotta admit that as big of a Pushead fan that I am, his early work is pretty hit or miss and this one definitely falls more to the miss side (though a humorous miss). Killer lineup though.
best offers on XClaim full catalog… almost!
I’m not sure if alohacb is an old Boston guy or just someone thats selling off pieces of a good record collection, but here is your chance to pick up ALMOST an entire XClaim Records discography! Theres no test presses here, we’re talking just standard releases, but speaking as a person that has none of these, I think its pretty impressive.
Some of the BIN prices are high, but all 5 of them have a ‘Best Offer’ option shoot him an offer on all 5 and maybe you can score a super deal! Then the only thing you will need to do is find XClaim #5 The F.U.’s ‘My America’ which would be my least favorite of the 6 releases anyway!
FU’s – My America LP
Controversial opinion of the day: This is the best X-Claim! LP. This LP is fast, tight, and has incredibly pummeling production. There’s something about early Boston HC (ie, the X-Claim stuff), and this LP in particular, where the guitars sound HUGE—like there are 20 guitars playing at once. I think it’s a combo of the playing and the recording, and it blows me away every time I listen.
This record is VERY tough to get with a clean cover, due to the nature of the printing. This copy looks really nice, and the opening bid is low, so hop to it.
The scene is real & made up of friends, Not centered on fashion or New York trends!
X-Claim had a theme going with band names all being acronyms SSD, FU’s DYS…. damn Jerrys Kids came along and ruined everything!!
X-Claim # 2 The FU’s ‘Kill for Christ’ from 1982
– great record, amazing band, Pushead album cover art! I was never a huge fan of The Straw Dogs, but I love me some FU’s. I have My America, but its the 1989 Classy Records version. Alas, no X-Claim vinyl for me.
X-Claim # 3 SS Decontrol ‘Get It Away’ from 1983
– the band that started it in Boston, the original Boston Crew, probably SSD at their best, there is no denying what a great song ‘Glue’ is! As much as I would love to get to hear these songs live I’m glad that the history of SSD was not tainted by the ‘Springa Sings Decontrol’ tour that was suposed to happen a couple of years ago.
X-Claim #4 DYS ‘Brotherhood’ from 1983
– Wolfpack was my favorite straight edge record when I was in 10th grade so by default I think this is my favorite X-Claim release plus its got cover art drawn by a young Dickey Barret! I will admit that it doesnt feature D. Christian Smalley with a lizard on his shoulder the way the 2nd DYS record does, but Jon Anastas does have his own Wikipedia page that lists him as “Punk Rock Musician/Hardcore Pioneer”.
