Some things are inexcusable. Take the auctions from quesowueso for example. He’s pretty much doing everything wrong. It’s not 1997. You can’t get away with posting up X-Claim Records test pressings without pictures. And to have the balls to start off with those high start prices and not even bother writing up decent descriptions. It’s a recipe to not sell shit. Dumb.

a Tribute to GangGreen!

durtymickstore is selling a record that I’ve never heard of, but I’m very interested in. I’m not familiar with the band ANS, but I do like Agoraphobic Nosebleed and I love GangGreen! I’m VERY curious to hear AN doing Alcohol which is one of my favorite songs of all time!

I dont know if this is limited or rare, new or old, but its got a cheap BIN, its on green vinyl and its a 5″ record… that all adds up to be pretty cool in my opinion. Have any of you guys heard these songs??

GangGreen ‘Sold Out’ was the first ‘rare’ record I ever bought and I still have it! My friends and I used to go to Thayer Street in Providence all the time and buy records and tapes, but it was mostly cheap used stuff or new hardcore stuff, but one day I must have had some extra cash cause I broke my collecting seal and dropped the cash ($20 I think) on a green vinyl copy of TAANG! Records #1 and I have treasured it ever since.

alohacb is selling the black vinyl copy which is cool so I suggest you hit the ‘make an offer’ button and get yourself a little christmas present!

I’m Back…

Unfortunantly I took most of August off from posting here, but the Noize Crew is more than strong, capable & large enough to get by without me. Either way I’m back and ready to get back into the thick of things!

I spent about 14 hours last Sunday in Revere, MA at Club Lido for the Gallery East Reunion Show which was FULL of high points and had very few low points.

One thing that could be either a high point or a low point depending how you want to look at it was when Chris Doherty puked on the stage. It wasnt a full on heaving vomit, but it was still something. Another personal high point (as silly as it is) was just hanging out backstage watching, once again, Chris Doherty pumping a keg and getting really pissed that it was so foamy. And now with that I bring you 2 GangGreen records that I have never seen in person….

1. Taang! Records #1 the ‘Sold Out’ 7″ on clear vinyl with the clear acetate sleeve limited and numbered to only 100 copies!

2. a Roadrunner Records re-release of ‘You Got It’ and ‘Older… Budweiser’ as a double LP.

Two cool records at both ends of the price spectum depending how deep your pockets are!

marsplymouth is selling records by 3 bands… Psycho, Skrewdriver & GangGreen.

This is on of the records that started and era in Boston hardcore. I know that SSD and XClaim started it in Boston and ‘This is Boston no LA’ came before this record, but this is Taang! Records #1 from 1984. The lable that has put out everything from Dinosaur Jr. and Stars & Stripes to Poison Idea and The Business.

GangGreen – Sold Out 7″ on black vinyl. I think that its limited to around 2000, but I’m not positive. I know it also came out on green vinyl (limited to 300 I think) and a super special clear vinyl version with an acetate sleeve all numbered of 100 copies.

The green vinyl version of this is one of the first ‘rare’ records I bought way back in the day. I think I paid $15 for it and that was a huge investment then!

ryanb714 has over 400 records for sale and most of them have reasonable Buy It Now prices on them.

I thought this one was pretty cheap, I’m pretty sure I paid more for mine than the BIN on this one. Based on the pressings of Back on the Map (red, white, light blue, silver, or yellow lables) I’m sure Taang! changed the lable colors for each pressing, but I dont know how many there are. I’ve also heard that it came on Red, White and Green vinyls, but I’ve never seen any of them.

All that being said, this record is awesome. Some people hate it because its so much different than the ‘Boston not LA’ stuff, but I think its awesome. ‘Alcohol’ is one of my favorite songs of all time!

You already know how amazing this record is and that you need to have it in your collection if you dont already have it so I’m not gonna tell you about it.

Insted I’ll tell you that this record was put out by Modern Method Records which was started by Mike & John the 2 guys that own Newbury Comics. When I worked at the Newbury Comics warehouse in the mid 90′s the original artwork for this record was just laying around. Sometimes it was on the conferance table, but then it would be in the way and moved to the top of a pile of boxes…. then moved to another table, then to an empty cubicle… it pained me to watch it just sit there. Sadly, I’m not sure what happened to it. I think they may have used it when they rereleased the comp on CD, but after that I lost track of it completly. I wish it was hanging on the wall in my house, but its not.

I love Ganggreen…. pretty much all Ganggreen! I’ll admit the ‘Boston Not LA’ stuff is better than anything else, but I still like ‘Another Wasted Night’, ‘You Got It’, ‘I81B4U’ and ‘Older… Budweiser’ which is one of the best record names of all time!

This is another piece thats in the Taang! store in Cali so its a little pricey, but I think its the only one I’ve ever seen. I know that a lot of the old Taang! test presses were done almost as a super limited 1st press because there were 30 of them. Suposidly this record also exists on red vinyl (400), green vinyl (400) and white vinyl (200), but I’ve only seen the black vinyl copy.
