Good Riddance to bad pop-punk

Good Riddance is one of those bands I’ve known about since I was a young kid, and always wanted to like and do kind of like. Have a couple of their 7″s. The thing is I’d be listening to them and I’d be totally into some of the songs that are in the OCHC/Ignite vein, homies are into the hardcore, rocking Void, Los Crudos and KYI shirts on inserts, doing Government Issue covers, but as soon as I think I can hang they always go and unload a Blink182/Nofx turd on me. They don’t seem to have an album that’s not pock-marked with those songs. Regardless, what they do have is SUPER fans, they are one of those bands. What that usually means is wacked out prices. I am not sure if $50 is a lot for this limited to 333 LP, but considering someone else wants well over $100 for the red version, maybe it isn’t? Anyway, I think this and “Ballads From The Revolution” are probably this band’s best records. This is the one with the GI cover too.

dostom wants to make sure you understand while this is not RED vinyl, it’s still cool. The Fat site is not too clear about pressing info but I think the yellow is the one out of 333.

For God And Country

Amusing story time.

One time I flew to New Orleans with my friend Mike. We had made plans to chill with a NBD all week in his college town. Definitely a good time was had by all.

When he came to pick the two of us up, it dawned on us that he drove a BMW Z3. For those not in the know, this is a soft top, 2 door sports car. Sadly, it only has TWO seats. So that’s 3 people, two seats. We chucked our stuff in the trunk and drove back to his house.

At the VERY FIRST light we stopped at, a car full of jocks pulled up next to us and started calling us out. I suppose they had that right. 3 dudes in a 2 seater is awfully awkward looking. I think Mike was going to fight them, but Rod calmed him down.

Later that night, while driving around listening to Good Riddance (which I mistook for Bad Religion because I had never heard Good Riddance before), Mike suddenly had the incredible urge to drop a deuce. Granted, we are in the middle of New Orleans, nowhere near our friend’s house. So Rod is driving around, really egging Mike on. Lots of sudden stops and accelerations. Of course, I’m sitting with Mike who is about to explode. He’s getting livid. Finally, Rod finds a beat to shit gas station. Mike runs in to find it’s a quaint bathroom that clearly abuts the main service area. He’s in there doing his thing and the whole time, the gas station crew is making fun of him, “Oh man, one time I really had to shit …” “I hate it when I have to shit so bad …” Good times.

Epitaph color vinyl seems hard to come by. I never really see it up on ebay or available anywhere. I believe this one is a first pressing and limited to under 700. Shout outs to @CountMeOut.
