I decided I would have a themed day of posts considering it is Superbowl Sunday. So all day I’ll be posting auctions for bands that have played the Superbowl of Hardcore.

Starting things off is this auction by durtymickstore for a GB self-titled 7″. It’s on black, nothing special, but there are 3 available from the seller, and there are kids out there that don’t have this record. If it’s missing from your collection, well, here you go.

Gorilla Biscuits – At The Matinee

Seller prepareforbattle has a really nice copy of the Gorilla Biscuits “At The Matinee” 7″ up right now.

The record coincided with, and was sold on, the Gorilla Biscuits 2006 reunion tour. 1000 were pressed, all on grey vinyl. It was originally supposed to be released on Revelation Records, but something happened as the band ended up doing it themselves. It must have been last minute as the vinyl matrix has REV141 etched in.

1000 pressed seems like a lot, but these things just keep getting more and more expensive. With a couple days left, this one is holding steady at a reasonable price. We will see how long that lasts.

If you are Brazilian or Italian, sorry guys you might as well move on. prepareforbattle has no love for your postal systems and would rather sell to the rest of the planet. Better luck next time.

This Gorilla Biscuits LP has been up on ebay for barely a day, and it’s already over $100. How’s that possible? Just relax. You have 5 more days to watch this one from punxxxnotdead. Good luck.

Rev Color Vinyl Is The Best

I can’t help it, I’ll always love Rev color vinyl. There’s just something about it. Each one looks so tempting to me. They catch my eye and pull me in. Like these three records below from handsomephantom (of course, he has a slew more but no one wants to see a picture of the Into Another Seemless on clear, right?).

As far as the early catalog goes, this Sick Of It All ep on red vinyl is one of the prettiest. Yeah, I said it. It’s pretty. The sleeve is dope and the vinyl matching the logo is just genius. Plus, the red is such a striking color. I can see why this generally sells for more than the first press on black vinyl.

Or this Gorilla Biscuits ep. Banana yellow? Hell yeah. This band was a branding powerhouse without even trying that hard. Big fan.

And there’s something about white vinyl. Or maybe it’s the fact that it’s an amazing Quicksand ep… A lot of the other white vinyl releases from Rev had a similar vibe, now that I think about it, … Kill Holiday, In My Eyes, Texas Is the Reason …

Go ahead and snatch these up. You won’t regret it.

Ive posted this record before and I’ll post it again. The Gorilla Biscuits 7″ on green is just so cool looking that every copy needs posting. Every time you find one its a new experience since they all somehow manage to look completely different from one another.
This one from straightray looks like a nice Italian marble bathroom in a New Jersey home. One day I will figure out the combo of vinyl colors mixed to create these.

I can’t believe its taken someone so long to post this one from dacavitycreep.
Forget the “off white vinyl” and the luke b-side drawing, and the Warzone labels, this is the one that I want more than any of those. Actually I had the Luke b-side one and its not that cool.
Why were these made? Were they for a show or sent out in mailorder? Why are they so hard to find compared to other records theres 100 of? I want these answers. But I wont be getting them anytime soon because this thing is already at $455 with a day and a half left. I bet a euro goes big on this guy.

I love that the pressing info for this Gorilla Biscuits EP has never been actually verified. How’s that possible? Kev Finn did a hell of a job tracking down every little piece of information about all those Rev EPs. I mean, c’mon, he even tracked down information on the Sammy drawn covers … Either way, closecallclearance is selling one. Always interested to see how well these sell.

When I was in high school my friend John Gilbert started Trinity Records, put out the first Temperance 7″, worked on a zine, had an awesome Rev collection and booked a bunch of shows, but my best memory of John was when he got a fake ID so he could get tattooed even though he was only 17. The ID looked awful but it was his picture, claimed he was 22 years old and from Maine. He did a bunch of research on the area of Maine he was supposed to be from and got all psyched up to get tattooed. A bunch of us went to the tattoo shop (Wheels Tattoo in Woonsocket, RI which closed and kind of reopened as Renaissance Tattoo also in Woonsocket) and watched as John had no problem getting his tattoo from a guy named ‘Wheels’ who was paralyzed from the waist down due to a motorcycle accident, but he still rode a custom built trike motorcycle with a spot for him to hang his wheel chair. When he tattooed you, you had to work the footswitch yourself which always seemed odd.

Anyway, John sat down and a few hours later walked out with the gorilla off the GB 7″ permanently inked on his back… or so we thought! Fast forward about 10 years, Wheels past away after getting in another motorcycle accident and Johns gorilla tattoo had just about completely disappeared. Apparently the rumor was that Wheels used to water down his inks and John’s body just completely absorbed the tattoo and it was gone. Weird stuff! Now I’m gonna try to find a post to work in the story about when Wheels gave me a 1/2 stick of home-made dynamite in exchange for a ride home.

GB – Live At The Goudshival Lot

This one is a bootleg, but it’s an interesting one. This is the Gorilla Biscuits Live At the Goudshival EP. For those who don’t know, the Goudshival is a club in Arnhem, Holland. You know, The Netherlands. It’s a club that has been kicking for nearly 20 years. I’m not positive if it’s still there today, but I would guess it is. This particular EP was recorded during the 89 tour. According to my giant GB tour 89 poster, this was the first stop on their tour. Pretty cool.

1) Black vinyl. Alternative cover. Hand #d 21 / 200.
2) White vinyl. Normal cover. Hand #d 25 /100.
3) Lime Yellow vinyl. Normal cover. Hand #d 27 /100.

Earlier this week, we saw a Gorilla Biscuits Start Today final press LP sell for $350. Why? No fucking idea. It’s insane. It actually outsold many of the first press, purple vinyl LPs that have sold recently. That’s crazy. You know what happens next. Someone sees it sell for a lot of moolah, and dollar signs start flashing before their eyes. That’s what happened with chimpanzeeacme. Someone stop the madness on these Gorilla Biscuits LPs. I thought it was crazy when I sold mine for $50. Yikes.
