Ten Yard Fight – Hardcore Pride

A few years back, I was on a big kick to collect all the versions of the Ten Yard Fight Hardcore Pride EP. It shouldn’t have been that tough, but for some reason it was. Thing is, I had already cornered the hardest one to get, a test press. Back when I bought Dickie’s collection, this was one of the first EPs I bought off him (before I bought the whole collection in a second round of buying. Of course, apparently, that didn’t include his Bane test press .. ugh). And I have the blue one. That means I’m just missing the grey wax (like makeachange88 is selling) and the white wax. So honestly, I have no excuse not to buy this one. I’ve been over half way there for 8 years now …

Back To School Jam

I missed the first Back To School Jam. Yeah, the one at the Rat with Floorpunch, Blood For Blood, In My Eyes, Reach The Sky … and beef. I never made it to the Rat. Not once. You want to know why?

My friend decided he didn’t want to drive into Boston. Yeap, that’s it. He didn’t want to drive. Now, that’s a shitty excuse. In reality, I should have moshed down to the train station or hitchhiked or hopped a freight car or …

But I didn’t miss any of the other Back To School Jams. There wasn’t any way that was going to happen again.

BTSJ IV was a great one.

September 2000 @ Framingham Mass: BTSJ IV: Reach The Sky, Hatebreed, VOD, American Nightmare, Right Brigade (Sick of it All and H2O canceled)

Such a sick lineup. And this time around, super easy to get to. There was even a train station across the street. The AN set was awesome. Lots of great pile ons and plenty of stage mosh to stage dive.

Watch and learn**.

Strike Anywhere Change Is A Sound LP

I didn’t REALLY start collecting records until 2000 or 2001. Before that, I just picked up tshirts and said, “I don’t need records.” Then for a while, I would only buy EPs.

Yeah, I’m weird, what do you want?

One of the first new LPs I picked up was Change Is A Sound on grey vinyl. I bought it at the Newbury Comics in Shrewsbury while hanging with my friend John Hammand (not the pianist dude, sadly). We were driving around after some ridiculous CS classes in 2001 and hit up the Newb. Ben Cummings may have been working that day. I would later purchase ALL of his brother’s record collection. That was the day my collection really took off.

In fact, according to my timeline, I bought most of Dickie’s collection 8 years and 2 days ago. February 6, 2002. How about that? Time flies. I actually purchased his collection in two scoops. The first scoop was lots of early rare Rev gear (together comp on orange, warzone on orange, soia on red & black stamped, gb on yellow, judge on green, gb on purple, … straight ahead lp). The second scoop was everything else. Which included 15 copies of the Converge Halo In a Haystack LP. Dope.

But this feels like the LP I really started it all off with. And hanging with these guys for a week in 2006 was a definite trip. Great dudes. Shout outs to Garth and his GB Tour 91 longsleeve with yellow ink on the sleeves!

Rev Collection – Chain of Strength

Both of these sellers are high as a kite with those BINs. For Reals.
For the young bloods out there. There was a time when collecting records wasnt that cool or trendy. And it wasnt that long ago, like mid/late 90s. I remember a friend, Geoff ordred the green COS 12″ and when he got it in the mail he thought it was warped. So he called up Rev, sent it back and then like a week later he got another. Now a days records on limited colored vinyl are selling out in a day or hours. Or pre-ordered. It was around this time, actually summer of 1997 I was able to and ordered 5 copies of Judge “the Storm” on gold for $3 each. They still had tons of them. It seemed once the internet got into full steam and with ebay added shit got crazy. Still is.

Nerve Agents colors

I will be doing these posts occasonally. Helping to remind you of those Rev releases you still need to fill the holes in your Kev Finn-esq collection. Plus Im interested to see how much some of these go for

I still remember the first time I heard the Nerve Agents. It was during the 1998 Rev summer tour with IME,battery, speak, and Better than a G. I forgot whose house we were chilling at but I remember talking to the host about how much I loved Redemption 87. He said he had a tape of a new band that was gonn be on Rev and he made me a dub on the spot. I was psyched. I ended up actually seeing them play a few days later in Cali. Good time. Im into both these records
