Phlegm was a death metal/grind core band from Providence RI back in the early 90′s. They used to play the ‘metal fests’ at club baby head and I saw them open for Vital Remains a few times too. I believe that the bass player got arrested for knocking over gravestones in a jewish cemetary and then the band wrote a song about it. Phlegm was always about over the top gross out and offending people. I remember seeing them once and the guitar player had a studded guitar strap that he had carefully removed some of the studs from so that the remaining studs were in the shape of swastikas.

In addition to this 7″ that flsfrt1 has for sale they also had a demo called ‘Clotheshanger Abortion’ which featured the hits, “I Gotta Take A Shit”, “Fat Chicks Suck” and “Rock Sweeties From Hell”, the later of which had them playing short clips of 80′s hair metal songs to mock the whole genre.
