Gorilla Bootlegs & Gorilla Parodies

Here we have a Gorilla Biscuits bootleg that I personally have never seen. The sellers description says that its demos from 1986 and the title says its demos from 1991. I’m sure its crap and I know alot of you guys don’t like bootlegs at all, but I really like the cover with just the Gorilla on the blue background. It reminded me of when I was in 11th grade and my friend John (Trinity Records) got a fake ID that said he was 22 and from Maine went to get a tattoo of the Gorilla on his back. He got it exactly the size of the 7″ cover and it was awesome. The tattoo was done at a shop in Woonsocket called Wheels Tattoo and the guy that did the tattoo was in a wheelchair from a motorcycle accident. Because he couldnt move his legs you had to control the pedal for him. One night after another friend got tattooed by him he asked us for a ride home so we drove him and when he got out of the car he handed us a 1/2 stick of dynamite as a thanks for the ride and said “dont blow your hands off with this” Wheels died a few years after that in another motorcycle accident (on his custom trike) and as odd as it was Johns Gorilla Biscuits tattoo actually dispeared! There were rumors that Wheels watered down his inks, but it was still amazing that the whole tattoo was basicly absorbed by his body.

Here is another one from the same seller that just kind of fits the theme of this post. I got this record pretty early on in my hardcore record collecting days and when I got back into it a while ago it was one of the first things I traded for something I wanted more, but I wouldnt mind hearing it again!

CAPTAIN STRAIGHT EDGE!!

What do E. Honda & a lot of great hardcore records have in common? They’re both from Japan!

This one doesn’t qualify as a ‘great’ hardcore record but I remember having it in the early 90′s and playing the hell out of it! I didnt care if it was a joke or not I loved the whole Captain Straight Edge concept! and the Grudge blow up Dolls gag was great too!

I sold my copy of this off of my list on Hows Your Edge for about $30 I think. This copy is well below that with no bids and less than a day to go, but maybe I just really made out when I sold mine!

Grudge > Good Clean Fun > ISHC

The International Superheroes of Hardcore are like the GRUDGE for a younger generation. A lot of people (most) seem to hate this record, this band and generally this whole concept, but I think its funny. Its almost like a Playschool ‘My First Hardcore Record’. Theres a song about always wearing your seatbelt, a song about not swearing, songs about ‘Back to the Future’ and Indiana Jones… what more could you ask for?!?

Ok…. welll the one negative is that the whole band is members of New Found Glory…. yuck! Its still a good record though!

This is the 2nd rarest color of the LP. The auction says its limited to 500, but I believe its actually only 400. The BIN is high, but make an offer!
