I think that I’ve slept in the same room as Ed Lalli more time than any other person that I’m not related to. Over the course of 6-7 trips with Slapshot Ed and I were roommates for all the trips that were not on a bus. I think we worked well together, both slept pretty soundly with minimum snoring and we had some good times! Most of the room were decent, I know there were bunkbeds a few times and at least once we were stuck in one double bed. The weirdest room situation was the room with the clear glass shower stall right in the room. It wasnt a seperate bathroom, there were no walls or curtains. It was just 2 beds and they were both facing a showerstall. Luckily there was also a community shower down the hall and the Slapshot touring company were the only ones in the ‘hotel’.
I went on a couple of Slapshot trips without Ed and shared rooms with Mike Bowser or John Bean. They are both great guys, but it just wasnt the same as it was with Ed and I. His FiancĂ© Heather is also awesome and can be seen supporting bands at shows as well. So if you’re out and about in Boston and you see them, buy them both a beer!
So in addition to being a great roommate, Ed is also a great guitar player and singer. The first trip I went on with Ed was Slapshot with the Blue Bloods opening and Ed went out to sing a Bone Crusher song with them a few times on the tour and it sounded awesome. So I wasnt surprised when TJ Welch left the Blue Bloods and recruited Ed to sing when he formed a new band!

Ed had the pleasure of playing on 2 Slapshot records, Digital Warfare & Tear It Down. Now no one is going to compare either of them to Back on the Map or Sudden Death Overtime, but they are good solid records and are much better than Blast Furnace!

I have actually never heard this CD, but I’m hoping I can win this one or at least get a copy of it. Ed played guitar for Grudgeholder sometime before he joined Slapshot. This is from Vulture Records in 1999 and the seller has it listed as hardcore/punk/OI, but like I said I’ve never heard them.
