wood peckin’ peckerwoods

I’m a self admitted Slapshot super fan and I know that theres a Slapshot song called ‘Rap Sucks’ but back in the day (and still from time to time) I enjoyed me some rap music. Most of the stuff I liked was super stereotypical early 90′s stuff like Cypress Hill, Funkdoobiest & Onyx. I also liked some ‘good stuff’ like RUN DMC & Public Enemy, but I think that House of Pain was my favorite at the time.

I saw them a few times most notably with the Gravediggaz, Biohazard & Korn at the Strand in Providence, RI and at an all hip-hop show at E.M. Lowes (The Palladium) in Worcester, MA were tensions were high due to rap kids feeling invaded by hardcore kids who were jumping on the House of Pain band wagon. I think it was at one of these shows that Danny Boy broke his ankle and was temporarily replaced by Scott Ian from Anthrax for a few shows on the tour.

If you win the records in both of these auctions you will have all the ‘nessicary’ House of Pain vinyl. There are some other 12″ singles and there is a 3rd LP, but nothing thats as good as the first two LPs and the Legend single.

jump up, jump up & get down!

I was a fan of House of Pain back in the day and saw them play a few times. I saw them at E.M. Lowes in Worcester and there was a mixture of hardcore kids & rap fans that almost turned into a brawl! I saw them again at The Strand in Providence with Biohazard, Korn & Gravediggaz. I think that Danny Boy broke his ankle on stage at that show. The last time I saw them was at the Rocky Point Palladium in Warwick with Cypress Hill, Da Youngstas, Da Hooligans & Funkdoobiest. None of those shows were as good as seeing Everlast in a small Boston club before his first solo record came out. That was a great show.

Heres a 7″ with 2 different remixes of ‘Shamrocks and Shenanigans’ pressed on green vinyl and put out by SubPop

and the 2nd auction is a 12″ of my favorite House of Pain song ‘Legend’. I dont think it was ever on an LP actually. Its cheesy, but I love the chorus… a hero aint nothin’ but a sandwich
and a legend aint nothin’ but a car. So go blow out your brains like Kurt Cobain and maybe one day you’ll be a star!

Crossover Sucks?

No secret that I’m a huge Slapshot fan… but I have been known to enjoy some ‘crossover’ from time to time as well. I have a CD copy of the Judgement Night soundtrack and I have this Helmet/House of Pain 12″, but not the Biohazard one (which is another autographed record!).

This is a couple of 12″ers with BIN prices that are not super high. House of Pain & Helmet is five versions of the song ‘Just Another Victim’ and its on clear vinyl. The Biohazard & Onyx is four versions of the song ‘Judgement Night’.
